Under category A, would missing pay slips for a whole month pose a problem or could it just be explained in his sponsor letter? Also, besides only needing 6 months pay slips and bank statements rather than 12, and a letter from U.K. employer with job offer, will he need one from his current U.S. employer as well? Getting these letters has been a wee bit of a pain lol.
He MUST include all 6 months of payslips AND bank statements - if even one payslip or bank statement is missing the visa will be refused.
He will need:
- 6 full months of payslips showing at least £1,550 before tax on each one (if he is salaried)
- 6 full months of bank statements showing the deposit of every single payslip
- a letter from his current employer stating his employment details, current salary, length of employment, length of time earning current salary and type of employment
AND
- his new UK job offer letter
Or you can actually choose to apply under Category B anyway, even if he is still employed in the US, and send:
- 12 full months of payslips and bank statements showing total pre-tax earnings of £18,600
AND
- the UK job offer letter
In all, it might actually be easier just to stick to Category B.
To recap:
Currently employed in the US, with employer more than 6 months:
- you can choose Category A or B
Not employed in the US, or with employer less than 6 months:
- you can only use Category B
