The links in the second post  no longer work. You can either read the relevant rule changes for your own situation in the link to the government site in the first post, or use a search engine if you want a brief look at some of the changes.

For some of the changes that started on 11 January 2018 (not all started on that date) there are sites like this -

The rules seem to make it easier for those the UK say are the "brightest and the best", will "give to the UK" i.e. more exempt from the RLMT; a 3 year route to ILR for some; more improvements for some of those on a Tier 4 student visa who have an employer who wants to sponsor them, etc

There is also the usual shutting down of abuse.

These rules also clarity that visitors to the UK are not allowed to use any school/acadamy/any other, that is tax payer funded (paid via the Local Authority etc).

The Tier 2 General 60 day gap from leaving one employer to a visa application for an new employer, preventing ILR, is removed. Although this seems to suggest that UKVI will be quicker in getting out the visa curtailment letters for those who still have time on their visa, instead of taking several months to do this. UKVI are already sending out quick refusals now for those who try to buy time by putting in an application for something that they know they won't get.

Some new systems coming in for entry to the UK.
