Saving for FLR(M)

I can see on the gov.uk website the current prices and assume they will go up this year and next for visas and renewals.  I have been saving part of every pay check but I want to make sure I'm saving enough for my FLR (which I will be eligible for in summer 2019) before I start redirecting savings to the accounts we use to save for a house deposit or travel etc.  Do we know about what it might be in 2019?  I have planned on (and am just short of) £3k to be earmarked for visa costs alone for next year.  I just don't want to be surprised and have to scramble last minute.

FLR(M) and ILR have been approved to rise to £3,250 by 2019/2020... so I would budget for £3,250.

No, that'll just be the visa fee... I forgot to include the IHS fee as well.

Since FLR(M) is only currently £993, I don't know whether it will go all the way up to £3,250 by April 2019, but it's worth having the money put aside just in case (and don't forget, you'll need to budget at least £5,000 for ILR and citizenship as well).

ILR is already £2,297 so I can easily see it being £3,250 by April 2019.

Definitely aware of ILR coming after that, but one thing at a time, haha!

The website still lists the IHS fee as £200 per year, is that likely to stay?  There are lots of rumors of it going up to £600 per year but I don't know how much credence to give them.

And yes, I definitely want to have a little more than I need set aside, and if it doesn't go up as far as it can then can put it toward the next one or something.

The £600 per year number was in the Conservative manifesto for the general election.  So, could it happen?  Yes.  Will it happen?  Anyone's guess....   

I'd aim to save £4-£5k (if at all possible).  With a bit of luck, you'll have money left over for either a little holiday or towards your ILR.

Lol - sorry... I was just thinking that if you had the £3,250 saved but FLR(M) wasn't as much as that, you could put the rest towards the ILR .

I'm really not sure, to be honest. I haven't really been keeping up with the IHS side of things.
