Spousal Visa - Husband travelling while I am arriving
« on: January 17, 2018, 03:52:48 PM »
Hi!

So I have applied for my spousal visa and am waiting upon decision. My husband (UKC) is currently in the UK and has been since 12/02/2017. So of course when I applied I filled out the form stating he would be there.

In 2016 my husband applied for US citizenship and we had been waiting for further notice. I just got a letter in the mail that he will be tested on 02/15/2018. Now I of course I don't know when I will hear back on my application, but lets say the timing lines up horribly and he is here and I am travelling there.

Is that an issue? He would be returning within a few days /weeks at most of my arrival. I wouldn't be travelling with him and I would have friends to pick me up from the airport. I just wasn't sure if him not being in the country at the time of my arrival would be an issue?

Thanks!

He MUST be either already in the UK when you arrive or be entering the UK with you at the same time.

You CANNOT enter on your visa if he is not either physically with you when you arrive or already in the UK.

Yep - he just needs to be in the U.K. when you arrive... because part of the conditions of the visa are that you are JOINING your spouse in the U.K.

When you arrive you will be asked where your husband is and they may even ask to call or see him (if he is at the airport to meet you) to confirm that he is in the UK. If he is not in the U.K. then they may be suspicious of a sham marriage/fraudulent visa application.
