Why did you pay the IHS fee?  That confuses me...

There's an issue with the Armed Forces application where it won't let you submit the online form until you have paid the IHS... so you have to pay it and then get a refund later.

Yep the letter from his Unit HR included the date he enlisted and his expected out date which is in about five years.

I wondered if it was a bug.  I know it did used to work and give a reference number.  Nice to know that things that worked before have broken....   ::)

It literally could be this simple:

They want to verify the end date of the contact as they will make the visa valid for a full five years instead of only 2.5 years.

He's been there over 6 months, hasn't changed jobs, blah blah blah?

That's correct he enlisted when he was much younger. Has been at his current posting for several years now.

Sent a wet signed and HR stamped ‘Certificate of Service’ stating i am indeed serving that it is permanent and will serve until August 2022. Furthermore confirms my rate of pay and for how long. Also submitted attached to it a stamped printout of my whole service dates and rates of pay since enlisting.

Did it ever work?

When Karlee was one of the first to try the IHS in 2015 as an AF dependant, UKVI  told her to apply for her IHS under a category that didn't have to pay, which back then was Tier 2 (ICT), Aussie or Kiwi: but now they all pay the IHS too.

The bug on people being told children didn't have to pay (when they do, unless they are a dependant of AF) came later. :P

Well I can tell you as of December 22nd they still asked you to pay with the exception of children. Massive flaw in their system. But right now I'm not happy with them so... Lol

So disheartening when you know you meet the requirements, you’ve supplied everything that’s asked, watched others pass you by and then get this.

It is.  But try not to let it get you too down.  Someone else got this on Monday or Tuesday and they got their decision email today.  It doesn't mean it'll be a long delay (though sometimes it can be long).  Try to relax and not think about it (I know... it's all you can think about).

KFdancer... Don't you think right now would be a perfect time to have a little vacation? Wouldn't that help us not stress over it too much? 😀

I most certainly do!  Does Southern Boy need a little prodding?

Go, seek warmth, make a little love.  ;D
