I was looking on the Swansea council's service fees page.  https://www.swansea.gov.uk/registrationfees  The section headed "Individual Citizenship Ceremonies".

Yeah, that says individual so looks like that’s what the private ones cost...  pricy though, more so than my area or KFDancer’s. I would check other councils, you have an option to nominate a different one on form AN.

Well, I suppose the M-Th price is not too bad, I got distracted by the £480 price tags at the bottom!

When it says "approved premises" is that the same list that's approved for wedding ceremonies?  Do you know how I could find a list of them?  I'd like to consider my options for a M-Th off-site private.  I mean... they do weddings at Wookie Hole.  ;)

Found the list for Swansea area:  https://www.swansea.gov.uk/article/2669/Ceremonies-at-approved-venues

Now I will consider all the councils and their approved premises lists!  There must be something stupid fun... that I can waste money on.  I'll make my sister pay for it.  ;) Wheeee!

No idea! Give them a call tomorrow and see what your options are. Remember, they are not UKVI so you are likely to get reliable information from them!

Here are the councils in Wales that do.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nationality-checking-service-wales/wales-nationality-checking-services

And England, in case any of these are more convenient.

Okay, just to be clear... as long as I indicate in my Form AN where I want to have my ceremony, it doesn't have to be the same place where I use the NCS to send my application, right?  So I could do NCS and passport service at Swansea, and then indicate in Form AN that I want to have my ceremony in Manchester, if I wanted?

Me too!  :) I know that everyone says that the citizenship part is easy but I’m not finding that to be the case so far!
I know where I am with the visa stuff but this is a whole new ballgame!

Exactly.  Only catch is you need to state where you want your ceremony from the start.  They cannot change it (well, not easily or quickly).

I applied with Reading council but had my ceremony with Wokingham council.

Okay, so that helps.  I am definitely ready to book my NCS appointment for Swansea Council.  And I have until my appointment date to finalize my decision on ceremony location to put in my Form AN.  Thanks!

When you call to book, definitely reconfirmed they are doing passport and application check. I've found 3 now that still have it on their site, but when called they say they won't be doing passport check. Something about a change the came from home office 30/1.

Then again it could just be Notts as I see it was edited on home office website 19/1.

Yeah, I have just heard that suggestion from another member here.  I suspect it's not just your council.  Every step of this process, I feel like I've been one step behind Home Office's attempts to make things more difficult.  I really regret not meeting my husband a few months earlier so I could've been in before the New Rules in 2012.

But I suppose, in the grand scheme of things, this is only a minor thing.  I don't have to get my UK passport immediately, as long as I have citizenship.

It's all very strange. From this information, I had assumed that the combined NCS/passport application was being withdrawn from the local councils but I just looked again at the ones in my area and one that didn't previously have the facility, now says they do! The date they started to offer the service was Jan 30th but the problem with them is that they require you to complete the online form AN.

Because of all the known issues with the online FLR(M), I am not even going to go there with AN!

As jfkimberly noted, it's not the end of the world not to get the passport application done at the same time but it certainly is more convenient and brings up the subject of the first adult passport interview.
Does anyone know if everyone has to have one of those (if no combined service available) or it it a randomly (or otherwise) selected sample of folks?

It's not the interview that would be a problem in itself, but getting anywhere is always  such a big deal for us!

You *may* be asked for an interview.  I think it happens more often than not.
