Relationship Evidence / Call Logs for Spouse Visa
« on: February 02, 2018, 10:22:11 PM »
Hey everyone! I hope some of y’all can help my fiancé and I with this query...

So our “evidence of relationship” to include in the visa goes as follows:
- A snapshot of emails covering the length of our relationship (3 years of emails condensed into 1-2 pieces of paper to show regular contact through that length of time)
- Cards/letters sent to each other
- Boarding passes
- Photos of us together
- Marriage certificate

We don’t have any social media accounts we communicate on (i.e. Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.) because we communicate primarily via email and FaceTime audio/video. Is our lack of social media communication/further proof of relationship (because we don’t have social media accounts) going to be an issue when the ECO is reviewing our spouse visa application?

Additionally, do FaceTime audio/video calls show up on my phone provider’s call log? I am wondering if we need to go through my phone provider, which is Verizon, to obtain the call logs that would provide further proof of our relationship.

Thank y’all for any and all help!!!

You don’t need social media evidence to meet the relationship requirement - emails and FaceTime are much better sources to use than other social media... so what you have listed looks fine to me.

Facebook is not considered a reliable source of evidence anyway, so even if you had it, I would not include any Facebook evidence. Emails are probably better to use as they are less likely to be from a fake account.

As far as I know, FaceTime logs should only be shown on your FaceTime app. They are calls made through your WiFi/data allowance and not through the phone provider, so they’ll show up in the FaceTime log, not your phone bill.

However, if you have used your phone minutes/texts to communicate with each other, then including a selection of actual phone bills from Verizon would be great evidence to use as each call/text will show up on them.

Hi Ksand24! Thank you so much for your reply!

That's very useful information- so my next question is... would a screenshot showing FaceTime calls suffice for the reviewers of the application? I only have our call log from July 2017 until present time as that's when I got the phone I'm currently using.

For example, is this okay even though it doesn’t give my fiancé’s phone number?

Yep, that's all you need.

If you're showing July 2017 to Feb 2018 (8 months), I would screenshot maybe 2 calls per week, showing name, date and time and paste them onto a couple of sheets of paper. Same principle as for the emails.

If you can get it to show the phone number that would be good, but if it won't do that, no worries.
