Sorry to be snobby, but Jus-roll gets a failing grade from us. There's other brands that are just frozen, that might be better. Waitrose has some really good ones.
They are a great substitute for Pillsbury!
and this is in the diary free eating thread )
If grading them as a croissant, they should fail, if that's what you mean. I want to know how they compare specifically to Pillsbury crescent rolls... which are not in any way comparable to a proper buttery croissant. I just want those stupid little fake rolls to pop in the oven* and nom on...
Thinking about it, they're sort of a half-breed of croissants & crescent rolls. The pastry is quite a bit flakier than Pillsbury crescents, and not nearly as flaky as a croissants.
Hmm... so they sound nicer than a Pillsbury one, maybe? Would they still work for wrapping around hot dogs to make (American-style) Pigs in Blankets? I generally prefer real food, but sometimes I like a down 'n dirty American indulgence. I know where to find Oscar Mayer, and I'm not afraid to do this.
I imagine they would do the job.
And egg rolls.
Are egg rolls not the same as spring rolls?
