People just like the term Millennial and don't actually know what the age is for it. Haha.

Like I said, I laugh every time my friends in their early 30's talk about "how stupid" Millennials are and I'm like WE are Millennials! LOL

Yeah. It's really Gen z doing the stupid things. People just like the term Millennial and don't actually know what the age is for it. Haha.

People can be so dumb.

What really bugs me is that a large number of people on social media (you can imagine who) are using the whole Tide Pod thing to ridicule and discredit the teenagers who are standing up for gun control reform and protesting against school shootings... as if every single teenager in the country is eating Tide Pods and posting it on YouTube  ???.

Like I said, I laugh every time my friends in their early 30's talk about "how stupid" Millennials are and I'm like WE are Millennials! LOL

I was born in 1983 and I don't feel like a Millennial. I don't even think I heard the term 'millennial' until about 10 years ago, and at that time, I thought it referred to children born since 2000! So, having spent a number of years thinking I wasn't one, I still struggle to accept that I am one :P.

haha but I imagine you're also not a person who constantly complain about Millennials :p

I too for the longest time assumed it was people born in the 2000's and I don't think it's a weird assumption to make.

Lyonaria & x0Kiss0fDeath--

The first time I heard the word, "Millenial" was when my stepdaughter started kindergarten. Apparently, her high school graduating class was the class of 2000 so they were to become adults in the new century, the new millennium, "The Millenials". So, it's not really a new term but I understand why people think it means to be the current generation.

My stepdaughter is now 35 years old.
So, I'm feeling ancient right now Actually, the emoji is me!!

Oh I know it's not a new term, but the way you've just explained it now, makes it make a lot more sense now. As I mentioned, I originally thought it was people *born* in the 2000's but once I saw people around my age making fun of Millennials, I wanted to look up what years it was and that's when I was like "dude...YOU GUYS are Millennials!".

It totally makes sense how you've explained it above. Not something I would have realised! (about them graduating in 2000). You know what they say: Every day is a school day!

So if every "generation" is about 20 years (in practical terms).... I've missed some names. Last time I was keeping tabs, there was baby boomers, then gen x, then what?

There was an attempt to coin the term "gen y", but I don't think it stuck, as that would've applied to my younger brother and sister (9 and 11-year age gap to me), but that puts them born in the "millenial" group.  So I think you're all caught up.

I think I heard someone refer to kids born after 1999 as the "naughties", but that might have been in jest.

The ‘noughties’ was used to refer to the decade between 2000 and 2009.

As in, ‘Dad was born in the fifties, I was born in the eighties and my son was born in the noughties’.

Yeah, similar to how the period between 1900 and 1909 were the noughts.

But I am sure I've also seen/heard the children born in the 2000-2009 decade also referred to as naughties.

Not old enough to be a Gen Xer (although, my parents are baby boomers, they had us kids later in life), and not quite young enough to be a Millennial

You win. That is terrifying! I know that if I have kids someday, it'll be even later than that but 2035 just seems SO far away!

So yesterday my daughter convinces me to take her and a friend to a static trapeze / silk class.  I didn't know it was going to be in a yoga studio or I would have refused

Notice the extreme vegan yoga going on in the background.

Nothing like a bunch of twenty year olds doing yoga in spandex to make you feel old.
