http://www.birthtraumaassociation.org.uk/The Birth Trauma Association is only 8 months old, but has already had a great impact for mother in England who are suffering after having had a trauma - whether it be birth, pre-natal care, emergency c-sections, post-natal care, or any number of other issues that affest millions of women. It is an organization designed to break the silence surrounding Birth Trauma, and to offer unconditional support to those women who have lived through it. There is an extensive range or articles, there are countless links to other organizations who can help, and they also have 2 women who do free, confidential and personal counselling via email or telephone to anyone who needs it.
It is a wonderful organization to support, and also an important one to remember. Even if you yourself haven't suffered from PTSD following a birth, you may at some point know someone who has - and maybe one day you can offer her a branch of hope. The birth experience can't always be the wonderful even it is for most women, and supporting those women who are robbed of that joy is essential.
