They sell insurance for that here.
I did it when I used to deliver paint, put 70 gallons of unleaded into my giant lorry that wanted diesel.  They had to call one of those giant sized tow trucks used for towing semi trucks and I got to ride in front like a happy toddler.
If you ever start a paint store, don't let me near the place.

I knew about eggs not needing to be kept in the fridge but didn't know why it was different in some countries. Definitely learned something today and it's not even noon just yet!

When my husband first told me he doesn't refrigerate the eggs, I was horrified.  I had such "food phobia" in the US (I wanted my meat cooked, I wouldn't eat runny yolks, I refrigerated eggs, obviously).  But I did a bit of research about the respective food production/handling between the US and the UK--especially egg processing. Now I eat rare steaks and runny yolks (not together!), and our eggs and butter stay out on the counter.  I still wouldn't do these things in the US, but over here I'm happy to drink eggnog with uncooked eggwhites added for the froth, and I eat a steak that's more red than pink (but I won't go blue!).  I feel 'safe' to do these things here, but I wouldn't do them in the US.

I'd like to change to proper butter on the counter like they do in France.  We are Lurpack in the fridge and it's not nearly as nice.

But your wife is French!  How can this be?

Ours is still too hard in winter.  We should maybe think about getting heat.  ;)

Please tell her that a group of AMERICANS are horrified by her lack of butter and proper treatment!

We just don't have a space on the counter, and don't have a butter dish.
If I had space for a whole butter dish, I'd put a bread machine there.

BlondeShania has met my wife and family when we stayed at her yurts.

By the way, I didn't talk it up much because it was when I had just joined this forum, but our stay in BlondeShania's yurts was fabulous.  The breakfast was amazing and her whole family was super nice.  The other day I tried to find the site again but couldn't, it's something like yurtopia

The gas pumps are 100% opposite.  Not confusing at all.

UK:
Green = Petrol
Black = Diesel

USA:
Green = Diesel
Black = Petrol

I just thought about slim and whole milk..opposites too!

I refuse to believe you have less counter space than I have.  Make the sacrifice!  Good butter demands it.

A butter dish is nowhere near the size of a bread machine. I have less counter space than most and I can manage a butter dish. Lol
