Decision Email
« on: March 29, 2018, 05:31:55 PM »
Does the email sent out regarding the decision status actually inform you of said decision or is it a case waiting for the documents to arrive before you know ?

;D
We should be recieving our documents later today. I am biting my nails at this moment in time, whilst my wife is working.

What can we expect to recieve as far as the layout of the UKVI' s response and answer goes ?

You'll have a 30 day vignette in the passport and a letter confirming where you pick up your BRP once in the UK.

Good luck - fingers crossed :).

If it's an approval, you will get:
- your US passport back with 30-day visa vignette inside (UK date format DD/MM/YYYY)
- your documents back
- a letter telling you when and where you can pick up your BRP card once you are in the UK

If it's a refusal, you will get:
- your US passport back
- your documents back
- a letter telling you the reasons for the refusal

Thanks Guys i am happy to say she was accepted!!!
Wooohooo

We are now furiously planning on her arrival.

We are considering apply for a vignette extension but are struggling to navigate the gov site and find it.

Do you have any ideas on the cost one amd where to find them

Congratulations :D!

What dates do you have on the 30-day vignette?

If she has things to sort out in the US, is there no way she can fly over within the 30 days to pick up her BRP and then return to the US?

Applying for a replacement vignette is a bit of a hassle. It currently costs £169, but this is reducing to £154 from April 6th.

It involves:
- waiting for the current vignette to expire
- making a new online visa application for the vignette transfer
- I think she needs to attend biometrics again
- then she sends her application and passport to New York for processing and waits for it to be mailed back to her for the second time

In all, I’d allow another 2-3 months from now to get a replacement vignette.

Or she could fly to the UK within the 30 days, pick up the BRP, fly back to the US and finally return to the UK when she’s ready.

Also, the earlier she enters the UK on the vignette, the earlier her 5-year count to ILR starts and the earlier she can apply for her future visas/citizenship
