Rental Agreement
« on: April 02, 2018, 04:51:33 PM »
Hey guys!

When reading through some of the application check lists on here, I see that people who are renting send their lease (and letter from the estate manager) to UKVI. My fiancé lives with his parents, who rent a house. My fiancé (my sponsor) is going to provide the ECO with the rental/lease agreement, but his name isn’t stated anywhere on the agreement. However, the agreement does state that “family are allowed to live in the property.”

Should we get the estate manager to also put his name on the lease agreement? Just to add MORE transparency to his living accommodations?

Thanks guys!

The landlord (not estate agent) needs to provide a letter stating that you and your fiancé can live there.

Edited to add, really it just needs to be you that has permission granted.  But for completeness, I’d request both of your names.

Thanks! So it doesn’t matter if his name isn’t on the original rental agreement?

No.  What matters is that you have permission to live there after your visa is granted.
