Anything Mexican or local food specialties. Indulge in them all!

And any outdoors places that are a nice getaway/day trip. We may have a lot of sea and countyside, but there's a lot of geographic features common in the states that are harder to find here. I miss waterfalls and big lakes. :)

Yes, absolutely! I will do that :)

Well I'm from Minnesota, so I will definitely miss the lakes, boating and bike trails. I'll soak it in while the weather is still nice!

So my package was delivered today in Sheffield. I didn't get an email saying they received it though. Will I most likely get one tomorrow?

Same here! UPS delivered at 8:46 AM... not sure if that's eastern US or UK time... I haven't received an email yet either.

Well I was able to get my biometrics in on Friday!! There was no wait at all. The lady was laughing when she saw that I had an appointment on Wednesday haha so I'm SO glad that I didn't wait until Wednesday to get it done.

My visa is currently in the MAIL and Sheffield should get it tomorrow. my guess is I'll get the email from them on Tuesday.

Fingers crossed that I/we did everything correctly and that we have good news end of September/beginning of October!! eek!

You and I need to be visa buddies! Looks like we're on the same timeline! Good luck to you!!  ;D

All the best everyone . Looks like the 3 of us are on similar timelines !  Hoping for a 35-40 days turnaround time which seems to be the average at the moment.  :D

Larrabee - Our application was delivered 6 BD ago . We sent the documents through DHL (no other option) and have a proof of delivery / signature from DHL but still stressed as there is no official confirmation or acknowledgement email from Sheffield.  I have heard that it can take 10 days in some cases and sometimes they don't even send one ! We want to contact UKVI to put our minds at ease. Do we contact them through the email service they provide (£5 >:( an email  ) Would you recommend this?

Thanks

No, we don't recommend calling or emailing them. It's just a racket really and they are unlikely to tell you anything accurate or useful.

As long as you have proof of them receiving your package, it WILL be processed, email or no email.  :)

Using a service other than UPS definitely delays the "application received" email.  Not sure why.  Possibly delivered to a different dock or something.  You WILL get the email.  Sit tight.  :)

Funny that it's the exact same day that they've received our packages, too! So, yes, we are in this one together!  ;D

I haven't received an email yet either... The fact that neither one of us has gives me a little comfort in that maybe they just haven't gotten to them yet. I'm sure we'll hear something soon enough!  :)

I wouldn’t worry - it can take up to a few days to receive the email after it has been delivered, especially if they are busy. The emails are triggered when they log your application into the system and if they have a ton of applications to log, it may take a while to get to yours.

Makes total sense. Plus I was thinking that on a Monday they probably get a bunch of mail delivered since they don't handle these things on the weekends. So Monday is probably quite a backlogged kind of day for them. That's the way I'm rationalizing it and giving myself some comfort anyway!  [smiley=laugh3.gif]
