ToR question- pet transport
« on: May 01, 2018, 04:14:02 PM »
I am filling out the ToR now for my parents to bring my cat to me in September (possibly through Paris). It asks:
Are you importing Trousseaux and household effects?
and
Are you importing presents?
to which I responses no and no. In the following questions it asks:
Are the goods being imported 2 months prior to your marriage?
and
Are you importing the presents no later than 4 months after your marriage?
I also put no and no, because we are just bringing my cat which will be 6 months after our wedding and 9 months after I moved here.
When I click no it says: You are not eligible to claim relief.

I understand that I cant claim relief of items that fall under those categories, but does this mean my ToR will be rejected in its entirety?

On the next page it asks:
Is your family and/or partner also coming to the UK?

My spouse lives here with me, and my parents will be bringing in my cat. If they go through Paris, I will be in the car with them when passing into the UK. If they fly direct to the UK, I will be meeting them and my cat at the airport.

Who am I supposed to write in this section? My parents? Spouse? Nobody?

I just spoke with my moving company about this and they said that if the animal is entering the UK from the EU, you do not need to fill out a ToR form. So if they go via Paris, they need to complete all of the paperwork to enter the EU, and then the tapework treatment to enter the UK, but no ToR.
