Hello World
« on: May 08, 2018, 10:41:24 PM »
Hi! My name is Ashley! I'm 24, my port of last departure was Wisconsin, but that was five years ago now. My parents currently live in Michigan, and my little brother is in South Korea. I've lived and studied extensively in Germany, and then went on to do my MA at Portsmouth and stayed on via the Tier 2 route. I now work in the translation industry in Farnham, Surrey. My current goal is to be a really convincing adult and ace all kinds of professional stuff like life insurance and taxes. When I'm not all business, I like hanging out with my two super lovely pet rats - who I coincidentally named Yankee and Doodle - and on the weekends, with my British boyfriend who lives and works in London. I also like music, and I can often be found playing cornet in a local brass band. I'm very happy to be here and meet and digitally mingle with you all. :)

I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

The trumpet's edgy uncle.

And then she had, '76 trombones in the big parade, 110 cornets in the band...' running through her head on the train.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Welcome and good luck with your goals!  I'm multiple decades ahead of you, chronologically speaking, and still working on being really convincing.  (Being of diminutive height probably isn't helping me.  Hopefully you don't have that problem.)
