She will be charged in US dollars so it will be cheaper/better to use a US card because if she pays with a U.K. card, she will be charged currency conversion and foreign transaction fees.

Hi ksand ,

My wife submitted the online application yesterday . She paid for everything (application , IHS, priority ) but the courier service . Do we select the round trip service option from the vfs website ? Same link as the priority service ?

Thanks

My wife has submitted the online application. I am under the impression, that any evidence dated/submitted after date of online submission is invalid?  e.. whats app messages and call logs only need to be until date of application submission?

Thanks

Correct, though it may not work, as the system wants you to buy priority and shipping at the same time.  Give it a go though.

Correct.  They wouldn't be "invalid" if included though.  Just not necessary.

Brilliant , thank you . We weren’t sure about it at the time so my wife decided not to buy it . What happens if we can’t buy it ? Do we then go directly to UPS and pay for our own labels and make sure that a return label is included ?

Thank you

You can do that for the outward journey but they can't give you pre-paid postage for coming back from the UK. You would need to create an online account with UPS so that UKVI could bill your account. It's more complicated so that's why most people choose to use VFS shipping in the first place.

Argh no, that sounds like a hassle. We will try buying the round trip courier online. If not, I guess, we will have no option  ???

How would they bill your account, do you send them the UPS account details?

Yes.

But hopefully they've worked out the bugs and it'll let you buy the prepaid labels.  :)

Pretty silly question but is this the right appendix 2 form for spousal visa https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/270484/VAF4A-Appendix2.pdf

We have filled this one out. I just read somewhere that this is an old form !

The most up-to-date form is dated December 2013... so the one you have is the correct one.

Hi ,

My wife has booked biometrics for 03/08 , but we have just discovered a problem . She’s applying from the US Virgin Islands . When she went on the USICS website , this message popped up . That’s for her local USCIS centre

It shows that the office is only open on certain weeks . Looks like one week a month which is strange. My wife did inform me that the building was damaged as a result of the hurricanes last year, so that would explain the reduced operating hours. What do we do now ? My first question is , why would they allow her to book an appointment if the office isn’t even open on that day ?

Our alternative option is to reschedule the appointment and pick a different centre (St Thomas , USVI) . I have just checked online and they don’t have any notification about limited opening days so we can do the same date and same time there.

Another option is to wait another 17 days and book an appointment on 20/08 when her local office will be operating . However , we don’t want to delay our application even more.

I have asked my wife to call them if possible to see if the online information is 100% correct . If so , then find out the reason behind the discrepancy . The reason I say that is because every date we look at to book an appointment , it only shows 13:00 as the available appointment time . There seems to be no other times available . Is this normal ?

Any advice on this ? Also what is the difference between “update my appointment “ and “cancel my appointment” for biometrics . Does cancel mean start a new application ?

Thank you

The system is probably not sophisticated enough to pick that up. I would just go ahead and reschedule for the other centre.
