Online visa application questions
« on: May 16, 2018, 04:39:37 AM »
I’m confused about these questions and not sure what to put.

Issuing authority?
(I’m from the US so do I put just Department of state?)

Sponsor details:
When did they arrive in the UK?
Where is your sponsor now?
(My husband was born and still lives in England)

1-The passport question? Yes.
2-When did he arrive in the UK?- Put from birth or his date of birth.
Where is he now?- UK, if that is where he is on the date you submit the online application.

So I’m looking at my online application and it says
issuing office: British consulate general New York- New York

Is it suppose to be that or is it suppose to say the Sheffield office?

Under family details are they asking about my family’s details as the applicant or my husband’s?!

This online application confused me too....I just spent the last 4 hours filling out 3 applications and I am all the way confused, haven't submitted just being proactive.

So I’m looking at my online application and it says

Is it suppose to be that or is it suppose to say the Sheffield office?

My application also auto populated the British Consulate General NY. So you should be ok.

Thank you guys so much! This visa has been extremely stressful and my anxiety has been through the roof, so the replies do mean a lot to me.

Thankfully I finished the paperwork, so now I’m wondering how do I package it? I know I have to include and envelope and the shipping label for them to send it back. But how do I pack all of it?

Just put it in a neat, tidy pile.  You don't need to send return packaging, just the label.

If you have purchased priority, put that at the very top of the pile.  And don't forget to mark the outside of the package as priority in bold letters.

Yes very important to mark the outside as I can attest to not having done that and am now on BD 29  :\\\'(

Put in large, capital letters PRIORITY SETTLEMENT SERVICE on the front and back of the envelope.

Put in large, capital letters PRIORITY SETTLEMENT SERVICE on the front and back of the envelope. That’s what they suggest on VFS site.

Not just a suggestion, it’s a requirement.

The packages are sorted into Priority and Non-Priority before they are even opened, so if you do not write it on the outside, they won’t know to put it in the priority pile.

I forgot to do this but luckily I still got to the priority pile. It was a super big worry though!
