UK and US will
« on: December 10, 2004, 07:34:19 PM »
I've read that a UK will is not recognised in the US, so what do I do as a UK/US dual citizen?
Will I be covered in both countries if I get exactly the same will notorized in the US and in the
UK and keep them together?

It's recommended that you have a US will. I haven't fully looked into it to get too much more specific, but it's my impression that the US will see a UK will to its own best tax advantage. If that means it's not recognized, then yes, you might be right.

I know I need to look into this; thanks for the chivvy.
