Minimum Time in New Job for UKC Sponsor?
« on: May 19, 2018, 09:21:48 PM »
Hi everyone!

I've been reading this forum for about a year and it's been really helpful for helping me plan my visa(s).

I'm a USC and will be marrying my Scottish partner in the US this July, then applying for a spouse visa by the end of the year. He's finishing up his probationary year of teaching and his contract ends at the end of July.

Is there a minimum amount of time that he needs to be at a new job before we can apply? As I understand it, we will have to provide 12 months of payslips/bank statements if he's been there less than 6 months but would we (theoretically) be able to apply right after he gets a new contract?

Thanks for your help!
Spouse visa received: 30 November 2018
Arrived in the UK: 27 December 2018

So long as he has made at least £18,600 in the 12 months prior to applying, you can apply as soon as he has his new contract.
