FLM (R) checklist
« on: May 20, 2018, 09:40:13 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to send in my application tomorrow for 2nd leave to remain and just want to double check that I haven't left anything out. I have on hand:

Printed application, filled out (including debit card info for fee and IHS ref #)
2 passport photos of me
1 passport photo of husband (sponsor)
Passport (mine, my husband's, our son's, a copy of my stepdaughter's because it's unavailable)
Biometric residence ID card
3 family photos for relationship evidence
Our marriage cert
His divorce decree from his first marriage
Our son's birth cert
Recent nursery correspondence for our son
My stepdaughter's birth cert
(There's no correspondence for my stepdaughter - she lives with her mum, her mum didn't have anything recent, and council unwilling to send my husband anything.)
Our current lease
Correspondence (12 pieces)
Financial stuff (applying as self-employed)
CT600 and HMRC confirmation (pending -- this isn't in my paws yet)
Registration of company from Companies house
Unaudited accounts for year ending 31 Jan 2018
Business account statements (1 year)
Personal account statements (1 year)
Current appointment report from Companies House
VAT certificate
VAT returns for past year (quarterly statements)
Current and previous work contracts (2 contracts spanned the past few years)
Payslips for the past year

That's what I've got -- I don't think I'm leaving anything out, but I would be most grateful if someone sees anything amiss. Many thanks in advance!
April 2015: married
May 2015: submitted online application, set biometric appointment, realized we needed more time to gather paperwork which would exceed 30 days, freaked out, canceled applications, waited for refunds
June 25: submitted online application again
July 2: attended biometrics
July 6: package mailed to Sheffield with priority
July 8: package delivered to Sheffield
July 10: received acknowledgment email from Sheffield
July 12: received "decision has been made" email from Sheffield
July 15: passport returned by post with 30-day visa

Hi Matilda.  I'm going to respond to the parts that I do know, but I'm afraid I don't know what you need for self employment category of financials.  It looks like you've already had assistance on that section in another thread, though, so I'm happy to accept that you know what you're doing for that part.

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to send in my application tomorrow for 2nd leave to remain and just want to double check that I haven't left anything out. I have on hand:

2 passport photos of me
1 passport photo of husband (sponsor)
Passport (mine, my husband's, our son's, a copy of my stepdaughter's because it's unavailable)
Biometric residence ID card
3 family photos for relationship evidence - not needed
Our marriage cert
His divorce decree from his first marriage
Our son's birth cert
Recent nursery correspondence for our son
My stepdaughter's birth cert
(There's no correspondence for my stepdaughter - she lives with her mum, her mum didn't have anything recent, and council unwilling to send my husband anything.) - this is explained in the application?
Our current lease - your name is on the lease?
Correspondence (12 pieces) - you don't have any jointly-addressed post?  Is this evenly spaced over the time since your last visa?
Financial stuff (applying as self-employed)
CT600 and HMRC confirmation (pending -- this isn't in my paws yet)
Registration of company from Companies house
Unaudited accounts for year ending 31 Jan 2018
Business account statements (1 year)
Personal account statements (1 year)
Current appointment report from Companies House
VAT certificate
VAT returns for past year (quarterly statements)

Payslips for the past year

That's what I've got -- I don't think I'm leaving anything out, but I would be most grateful if someone sees anything amiss. Many thanks in advance!

For your correspondence, you only need six points in time that show that you and your spouse were living together, either through two pieces of individually-addressed official post dated close to each other and sent to the same address, or one piece of official correspondence addressed to both of you.  These six points of time should be evenly spaced over the last 2-1/2 years (or just 2 years?), so, for example, one jointly-addressed letter or two individually-addressed letters sent to your home from each of these months: March 2016, August 2016, January 2017, June 2017, November 2017, April 2018, or whatever spacing works with the correspondence you've saved.

9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Thanks jfkimberly! I already wrote on the application that i'm including the family photos. Should I still throw them in anyway to prevent confusion?

Yes, I did explain about the absence of correspondence for stepdaughter in the application.

Yes, my name is on the lease.

Re: correspondence -- I wish we did have jointly addressed mail, but we don't. I actually have more than 12 pieces of mail, more like 16 (8 each) because of the way I evenly spaced them out over the 2.5 years. It just came out to more than 12 pieces. I figure they won't penalize me for providing a little overage?

I've gone by the book from Appendix FM-SE, so I hope the financial stuff is all sorted. I can only hope.

You only need to cover the last 2 years of mail and only 6 documents in each name should be included (12 total).

I’d just take out the first document for each of you so that your documents only cover May 2016 to May 2018.

Thanks ksand24! That's what I ended up doing with the correspondence. It's away in the post now, so all I can do is take deep breaths and hope for the best!

Thanks to all who helped me on this wonderful forum.  :-*
