If that's the case...what can I do...mine will not make it in time?

That's why we always tell people not to submit the application until you are completely ready, with all your documents in hand. I know this doesn't help you now but we always mention it at every opportunity for the benefit of others who may be reading.

If you have not attended biometrics yet, you can move your appointment further ahead or in some cases it's better to cancel the application (you get a full refund if biometrics have not been attended yet) re-group and re apply.

If you have attended your biometrics, all you can do is submit your application when you have the missing documents. A late submission is not something that we have ever seen a refusal for, that's the good news.  :)

Hi All,

As we are getting all of our documents sorted so that we may submit our application at the end of this month I just have a few questions.

1.  I am missing some flight itineraries from 2013 and 2014 of flights as my email crashed and unfortunately unable to get a copy of them.  I do have all the other years from 2011 up until this year.  I have a copy of all the itinerary of the last 5 trips which is what was asked in the application.  Will this be enough?

2.  Do I need send all my actual passports including the prior passport before my name change due to marriage, and expired one??

3. Do I need to send my own cover letter aside from my husbands sponsor letter ? If so what should I include in the letter ?

4. I am having a hard time printing of records from iMessage and FaceTime calls.  Does anybody have a suggestion on what to use retrieve them ?  That’s our main line of communication.  We just started using Whatsapp since July because it’s easier to get the history.

I am sure I will have more questions in the next few weeks.  Thank you for all your help

Just send whatever you have.

You need to send every actual passport you have ever held in your life. You will need to list them all on the application and state where they are now. If they have been lost or stolen, you just state this on the form.

You can include a contents letter if you like. It can state:
- the type of visa you are applying for
- the date you want the visa to start (as per the Intended Travel Date you put on the form)
- anything you need to explain about the documents in the package (such as if you don't have all your previous passports, or large transactions on bank statements)
- any criminal convictions you might have
- any previous bad UK immigration history you might have (i.e. refused visas, illegal overstaying etc.)

Not sure - there may be a way to download history, but you can just take screenshots of a selection of messages on your phone or computer, showing the name at the top, the date and the time of each, and then paste them into Word and crop out all message content. You should be able to get about 20-30 calls or messages on a page, and you should only send 2-3 pages maximum for each type of communication (so about 60 calls or messages in total).

Same goes for WhatsApp. Just screenshot a few messages, paste them into Word and crop out all but the name, date and time of each. You can probably get about 30+ messages on 1 page.

Thank you!

This application thing is so stressful.  We just want to make sure we do it correctly so that we don't have any complications.  There is a 5 year old girl who misses her dad dearly, and I miss my husband as well as we haven't seen each other since July.

I will post all the documents we have soon.  I am hoping my husband will post me all the documents next week so that I have it in my hand before I submit the application.

Regarding my cover letter, what should it cover?  Should it cover the 3 requirements...financial, accommodation , and relationship.  I know my husband will cover it in his sponsor letter.

Thanks again for all your patience and feedback...

While the sponsor letter IS a requirement, the applicant does not need to write one.  That's optional, unless you have an unusual situation that needs explaining.  If you do write one, you can just briefly write what you're applying for, and what you're inclyding in your application to support it, and explain anything that needs an explanation.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Thank you!

I just found an app to download my IMessage history.  I had to pay $45, but at this point I would rather pay something extra to get all the info I need.

We had 10000 pages of IMessage history.  I can’t belive it’s that much but I suppose years of being away from each other will cause that!  I won’t print all of them lol 😂.   However tempted I am to prove a point!

Another question please....one of many lol

I am currently filling out Appendix 2.

On question 1.5. When did your relationship begin ?

I met my husband online on Nov 2010, but didn’t meet him in person until August 2011.  What date should I put.

On question 3.2. What is the financial requirement you are required to meet?

I need to choose Applying with no dependents under 18 right?  As our daughter is British Citizen through her dad ?

Thank you!!!!

You put the date that you consider your romantic relationship to have started. Only you will know what date that was.

That’s correct:
- no dependants
- so you need to show £18,600 income (or £62,500 in savings)

Hi Everyone,

So we are gathering our documents.  We are using the savings route.

I want to understand more about what dates the statements should be.

We are submitting the online application October 1st.  I would like to know if the bank statements we will have to submit needs to be within 28 days of online submission, in other words it should be from March 1st up until Sept 4th ??

We are actually submitting from March 1st until Sept 10th.  I just wanted to know if that would be ok.

Thank you

The latest bank statement must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date you submit the online application.

So, if your latest bank statement is dated Sept 10th, then you must submit the online application by Oct 8th at the very latest.
