Are wedding photos necessary for spouse visa?
« on: June 22, 2018, 03:27:20 PM »
Hi again all!
My husband and I were recently married, but decided not to take photos as it was a basic ceremony at my borough hall in NYC and we want to have a bigger celebration later. Now I'm a bit stressed about our lack of wedding photos -- we have photos throughout our relatonship, a few chat logs, plenty of travel itineraries, and our original marriage certificate. Will the lack of wedding photos be an issue for the entry clearance officer?

I was in a similar situation to you, and didn't include wedding pictures. We got approved no problem :)

No, it's not mandatory to provide wedding photos, any others of the two of you will do. We don't have any either!  :)

You only need to include 2 photos maximum in your package... they are simply to show you have met at least once in person.

It doesn't really matter when the photos are from, but we recommend sending:
- 1 photo from early in the relationship (if married for several years, it could be from the wedding)
- 1 recent photo (if recently married, again it could be from the wedding)

But remember, not everyone applying will be married. so they won't actually have any wedding photos to send anyway - some people will be applying for a fiance visa and some for an unmarried partner visa.
