I feel that way too. Especially when I look at my wee kitchen. I want a giant American kitchen.
But I don’t wanna!!

What do you use for the sour cream, Tami?

This is the one I used.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Soured cream. I just buy it at Tesco or Sainsbury's. It's not like Daisy sour cream but it is passable for this recipe.

My husband loves "ranchers dressing". We can only find Paul Newman brand here so I started making my own and he loves it.

I've also started making my own blue cheese dressing and it is amazing. I want to eat it with a spoon.

The Paul Newman one is grim.

Oh my gawd, I felt so bad... not long after I came over here, my husband brought a bottle of the Newman's Own one home for me, because he knew "Americans like ranch dressing."  I didn't know how to tell him that only Hidden Valley counts.  No other brands get it quite right.  I'm not so fussed about having ranch dressing (or the seasoning), but if it'd been proper Hidden Valley, I would've eaten the whole bottle.  But not the Newman's Own one.  *wrinkled nose*

That's why I felt so bad!  It was a sweet gesture, but I wasn't going near that dressing.  :(

He's pretty good now, after five years.  Really, he was good then, too.  He really was very sweet to think of me when he saw it.  I just wish I could have shown appteciation for his gesture by using it.  :p
