That's funny! My husband only sent me the John Cleese poem about  revoking America's independence bc of our failure to elect a competent president lol

One year my wife arranged a Thanksgiving card for me, signed by both kids.  I was thankful and baffled at the same time.

For Thanksgiving one year - I'd say 3 or 4 years in, he gave me a wrapped gift.  With an American flag fleece onesie inside...  WTF?

My kid is SO British.  She makes a card for EVERYTHING.  The cat gets a LOT of cards.

Luckily I've figured out that I don't need to buy a card for the million birthday parties she attends.  She makes one!

I always thought the excessive giving of cards thing was an American trait.  ;D  Cards for secretaries day, bosses, Halloween, giving valentines to everyone, not just your valentine...   ;D

Really?!?  I think of it as VERY British!

I did do the valentine for everyone when I was in elementary school.  But none of the others!

My step son just wished me Happy Thanksgiving.

He thought it was the same thing. He's 15.

I've only gotten Easter and Xmas cards from my step mom, the rest of the family didn't send them at all. I don't know who hallmark markets to but it definitely wasn't us!

This was perfectly normal where I'm from, but NOT expected in Europe.  The first year I was here this caused real trouble as I happily gave Valentines to random female friends.  My wife was pretty sceptical of the "everyone in the class gets a valentine " excuse.

Heehee, I'd like to have been a fly on the wall that day!  ;D
