I have never used this phrase before, but this is appropriate:  Oh, bless your heart!  "Where is 4H?"  Haha!  Awww!  Thanks, KoD.  :)

I did sewing, "cooking", leather craft (it is my belief that my dad really wanted to do this, so he got my sister and I into 4H so he could teach us this as a tax deductible hobby), and some other stuff.  Then we moved and that was the end of 4H for me (story of my life).

I'm city folk! Please have mercy!! haha

Thanks everybody for filling me in :) haha I am definitely a city person and wouldn't have had a clue this ever existed so appreciate you teaching me something new!

No problem  :)  Yeah, I think that's why they're trying to get more into science and technology as well as traditional agriculture these days.

What is the age range for the 4-H?
5-18
If we had 4-H clubs in the UK, I'd be a leader.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

I mean....I'm more than happy to learn skills if you want to teach me haha I would definitely be a real project! But I'm also about 10 years outside of the age bracket...

I've been thoroughly enjoying and LOL-ing the 4H chat!  ;D
I wasn't in 4H myself, but my sister was (with guinea pigs)... i remember their uniform - white button-down shirt, white Nuvos (does anyone remember Levi Nuvos??!!), the green beret and... i think there was also a green kerchief around the neck, or something like that?

I wish i had done 4H-- it would have been fun!  But no, me... i was too busy cultivating my devil-may-care louche-ness... riding my horse bareback around town, barefoot, and lying backwards along the horses back... like sitting, then leaning right back so that my head would be on his rump, reins hanging loose.  God what an idiot i was.  And also, hard to believe i was ever that flexible/limber!!!  :o

I did girl scouts (by force), can that please count? We had to beg and plead to even go camping a grand total of maybe once. I wanted to be a boy scout as they did WAY more fun things! lol

You were quite the feral child, weren't you?  (Not literally, obviously!)  And then you "grew up" to live on ketchup packets and beer!  I bet your memoirs would be a fun read.

I had an actual membership in Boy Scouts.  When I was 14, I learned about this "Medical Explorers" thing at the hospital near where we lived... it was a weekly tour of a different part of the hospital, where we'd get to learn about various specialist departments.  I found the burn trauma section particularly disturbing, as they told us what the patients have to go through.  I still shudder when I think about it. Anyway, the program was run by B.S.A., so I had to be a Boy Scout to go to it.

I was a complete brat.  Really embarrassing to think back on it!  [smiley=behead.gif]
My mom used to say that when i grow up and have kids, they will pay-back double the amount of trouble i put her through.
I must have believed it, as here i sit in my mid-50's with no children!!   ;D  I couldn't take that risk!!  ;)

I was a brownie and I had a great troop and we did all the great bits of camping and outdoor things.
When I became a Jr Girl Scout though, everything sucked. New troop, new leaders.  We used to meet in a Catholic Church hall and we had to fold the church bulletins in lieu of rent.  The Girl Scouts in the USA are really connected to the Catholic church (even if they pretend to be secular) and our troop leaders really rang the religious element of the Girl Scouts out. Everything seemed to be religious connected.  Even as a 9 -10 year old I knew I was an atheist, if I didn't know the word then, and I hated our troop.  I soon quit!

4-H was always awesome though.  I am still in touch with my 4-H leaders.

I was lucky in that we never had religion crammed down our throat in our troop but we also had awful troop leaders and I hated almost every minute of girl scouts outside of getting and eating the cookies LOL. Other troops had WAY more fun but our leaders just couldn't give a sh*t less I guess.. I also got pinned as the trouble maker so that made things a lot less fun as well LOL

There's a badge for troublemaking?!  I'm so sad that I didn't earn it.  :(
