My OH and I went to Glasgow this morning...just a day with just the 2 of us, going to various pubs and having a lovely Chinese lunch.  Was so nice to be with him, and not the usual cast of characters...we hardly ever do things just on our own; it's almost always with a group of friends, which is fine, but just nice to have a break from it.

I also managed to gently give him a couple of home truths, and he DIDN'T freak out!  He is a sensitive wee soul and cannot deal with any criticism, however minor or helpful, so this is huge!  :)

For a brief moment I was going to ask what pub you got chinese at as that sounded awesome but then logic and my first sip of coffee kicked in LOL

That sounds like a lovely day :) Seems like one of those days you just don't want to end!

The roads in Wales are insane! haha it's like a roller coaster, I swear!

I love the roads here!  I think they're awesome!  Check out this lovely bit of tarmac (taken in Powys region 5 years ago):

I thought she was out this way. 😁

Anywhere near Aberystwyth?

I'm about an hour-and-a-half away (55 miles) from Aberystwyth... I'm a little bit east-south-east of Carmarthen.  It's not too far for a meetup but I don't have the car today.  :(  How long are you staying?  Which way did you come in from?  If you came via the M4 from the south, maybe on your way out... ?

I'm in Wales in an lovely little Cottage called the Bakery near Aberystwyth. The owners left us fresh eggs, fresh bread, butter, milk, jams and dog biscuits for my two crazy sighthounds. How lovely is that?!

This is my husband and my 4th wedding anniversary today, so we're here celebrating.

What an amazing day.
(The drive was a bit ugh, since our AC was out and it made us grumpy and waspish, but getting here has been amazing)
Happy Anniversary!! Have a wonderful time.

Aberystwyth...  Carmarthen

Is there something wrong with your keyboard? These words need vowels or something...
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

I absolutely love just getting away from everything every now and then and Wales is an awesome place to do that (and the puppers certainly love it). Bonus points that it has a grill and it's own little outdoor area. Next time you need to go for the jacuzzi upgrade! hahaha We rented a place with friends last year that had a pimp covered Jacuzzi in the back garden bit and I felt like I could stay for ages LOL

Seriously. It amazing. Not too expensive, I think we paid £225 for 3 nights, including the pet fee. And the owners have a b&b just behind.

We've had hot tubs in the past, and they don't do too much for me. They're nice, but I'm rather take it or leave it with them. They're probably more fun with a group. It's usually just me and hubby!

But I have enjoyed them. 😁 I don't really have a swimsuit that fits anymore either... Haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I always thought Ys were vowels?

Apparently, in Welsh, both W and Y are vowels, as well as the usual A, E, I, O and U.

In English, personally, I don’t usually think of Y as being a vowel, though it can be regarded as both a vowel and a consonant.

I responded to this once but I don't think I posted it. *Facepalm*

I really like it out this way. The roads are fun (other than some of the tiny one lane ones.

We are from Derbyshire, so I'm not 100% sure which way we came... Or if Carmarthen is on our route at all. We came around Shrewsbury it's been a lot of travel west. 😁

We're here until Sunday morning. We spent the morning and early afternoon in New Quay. The beaches were lovely there!!

My moment of happiness today is the notification that my instant pot has been dispatched! Finally. So excited to make yogurt and tasty goodness quickly again.

And my guldens mustard arrived (in a hidden valley ranch box... My husband was so confused) so I am happily making deviled eggs this week.

awwww

I went through my instagram and deleted most of my very old pictures from 2012 that were cringey but gave me a nice walk down memory lane with comments from my now-husband. I was dying of embarrassment (and there were a LOT) but some of it was cute in a cringe way. I kept some that I wouldn't normally keep for my own personal pride but just thought I would keep little comments here and there for the future :)
