I wore my wedding dress for Valentines Day two years ago!  I wanted to get my money's worth!

I bet you look Fab, Margo.

LMH for today...

I wasn't sure what to wear to dinner tonight. I didn't bring very many "date night" clothes with me, mostly just comfy and work clothes. But my dress I wore at our wedding reception still fits. It's a lil snug but that's the style. Yay!

Thank you :) it was a nice dinner! We timed it perfectly and were just getting ready to leave when the restaurant started filling up. Secret to dining when you're allergic to life: weeknight dinner before 5.

Totally agree!! We do the same, sometimes.

My LMH is actually from yesterday, but it still makes me smile:

I made it through UK immigration before Dave for the first time ever.[/b] 🤯

Dude, yesterday was such a nightmare at Gatwick.  Second time running.  Next holiday, I am buying the premium passport crap.  I even asked the lady if we could go through the All Passports line and use our UK passports.  She said no.

I also asked why I passed 5 "Family Friendly Gatwick" buggy stations and not one had a single buggy.  She said, "Mothers just leave them down in baggge claim instead of returning them."  Ummmm... yeah... they do.  Because that's where they finally get their own buggy back. And it's not like you can go BACK through passport control to return them to the pick up points.  Patronising woman!

And our buggy was destroyed.   ::)

Seriously?!  Were they honestly thinking people were actually going to attempt to return the buggies?  No.  They need to have staff keeping an eye on that stuff.

Sorry to hear about your buggy.

On the way out, we found out you can ask for a lanyard from the assistance desk if you have invisible disabilities (e.g. colitis) which will get you to the front of any queue in the airport.  But I think you have to ask - employees didn't seem too bothered about singling you out automatically.  We got to board the departing plane first, anyway.

Arriving in Gatwick wasn't too bad because e-gates, baby!  Shame you can't use 'em with  kiddos.  But Cancun was absolute chaos.  Three flights back to the UK were all leaving within 45 minutes of each other so it was just heaving the whole time.  We were first off, though.

Only 11 more years until we can use them.

I was rather grumpy in the queue.  All the signs about how they are having us queue to keep traffickers and terrorists out of the country.  But the queue was for anyone travelling with someone under the age of 12.   ::)  So unless the terrorists are under 12...   :-\\\\

That's better than the treatment I usually get needing wheelchair service because the airport is too long to walk it all. They usually leave you for a solid hour, come get you, leave you again, and you get to border control 2 hours after the flight landed...

Genuinely hoping that its not that bad when travelling with my husband!

My partner emailed me today to say he is now sponsoring a dog from the same shelter/rescue that my sponsor dog is in. [smiley=smitten.gif]

One morning I was eating breakfast and they had a telephone interview with Frank Gardner, the BBC security correspondent who's in a wheelchair.  It was a slow news day, so they were talking to him live as he sat on a plane at Gatwick, all by himself, waiting for hours because the ground staff had insisted on taking his wheelchair.  He said it happens every time he travels to the UK, but it is not a problem when he travels to Africa because people simply pass him around over their heads.

He's a really nice guy, we met him on the way to play putt putt and he was taking pictures in the park.  He thought we were tourists and didn't know who he was so we just had a normal conversation about his telephoto lens.

Yeah, he featured in a recent article I read in the Guardian. Terminal 3 in Toronto is also horrible.

He hasn't told me yet which dog he's chosen, but this is my sponsor dog, Brandy.  She was rescued from the streets, heavily pregnant, and gave birth to 12 puppies.  One died after a few days, and the others were doing fine for a wee while, but now they are all in hospital with parvo.  :\\\'(
