Albatross!  I didn't hear the postman so wasn't expecting anything to be in the porch when I looked... but look what's here already!  And bonus Hawaiian Punch!  Thank you so much!

My husband works 4-1/2 days a week, and today was a half-day.  Often his half-days have him go in in the morning and he comes home earlier, but today he is scheduled to go in from noon to 5pm, and so just left a few minutes ago.  But tree-trimmers sent out by Western Power Distributors decided this morning was a good time to get some of their work done on our hedge and needed access to our back garden, so the doorbell was ringing about 5 minutes before my husband's alarm would go off.  We got up.  And then we had almost three hours to just hang out this morning!  We read the headlines together and talked about things that the headlines inspired, and we played music on the Bluetooth speaker, and we had coffee... it's not-quite 11, and I've already had an awesome day!  Yay!

I'm eating an incredibly unhealthy, but oh so tasty sandwich from the work canteen today -  Cheesy coleslaw with bacon. So good. I don't normally eat such things and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Huge, enormous moment of happiness! We have power again!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's been off since this morning, but the electrician came and he's got it so that downstairs is working and the upstairs lights so just upstairs plugs out of action but I'm running extensions up so I'm fine for now! Someone else will come back tomorrow.

We've had warm food and I've had a bath and his bed is working again. Hoorah!

Never, ever take electricity for granted!  ;D

Got to the office at 6am.  My dongle wouldn't deactivate the alarm.  So I had to sit in my car until 7:20 until someone else arrived.  Need to find out who the guy is as he was RUDE AS F*CK.

Anyways, back to work.

You did not need that extra stress today.   >:(  I'm looking forward to the decompression to follow this evening.

I had another driving lesson today, and I have really been struggling with the adapting to a manual car on the left. It went well! He had me actually driving around and although I get scared at giant roundabouts I've not been on I didn't do anything stupid that required him to take over. My test is scheduled for Nov 22 so I may actually be able to do it in the manual. Got a hill start right as well. Yay. :)

And found at least one job to apply for, who knows if they'll give me an interview but it's worth trying.

Progress!  Well done, Margo!  Does your instructor take you down roads that are possible to be your test route, so on the day it won't be unfamiliar?

If you're like me and you know every line in 'Christmas Vacation', it's a real struggle to hold a straight face when you're sitting in meetings when they talk about re-tooling.   And it's even funnier to text your husband and say "We were talking about re-tooling in this meeting" and he doesn't skip a beat and he goes "Re-tooling? I'll re-tool you".

Ohhhh, good for you! Way to go! You're almost there!

I have my theory test a week from this Friday. And Tommy Automatic resurfaced after two weeks and I'm scheduled for another driving lesson next week.   I like round-abouts. It's the ones that are like triple roundabouts, and the streets that are only wide enough for two cars to be on when empty that people park on both sides of, leaving only barely one-car-width left open that give me the willies! I'm really impressed that you are mastering a standard! I am having hell with just managing the road in an automatic!

All this just so I can "go home" and be able to rent a car.... my life is a bad movie.  ::)

Just got an order from the American sweet store

My son is obsessed with candy corn, so we needed that for Halloween (not giving out a single one to trick or treators) and the cereal is for bribing the kids to go to French school.  That peanut butter and chocolate cereal is crazily unhealthy, with twice as much fat and calories as the Life cereal.  Can't wait to try it.
Half this stuff was on sale because of short shelf life.

Captain Crunch is my all time favourite cereal.
