I got my biometrics done today. Not a usual happy moment but our town only has one post office that does them and it’s on the website with a disclaimer about special hours.

So I’m good I leave work early get there etc and the sign says no more after three pm(website said 530 on thursdays). So the poor guy saw me about to have a complete melt down and did them for me.  He said they used to keep it open till half five but they started getting to busy and not enough staff to witness it if it was a family etc.

Needless to say I’m a happy one tonight.

Yes.  Parma Violets.  They are of the devil.  HORRIBLE things.  My husband likes them.  We're sending a care package to my sister in Afghanistan, and he's including those.  She will probably like them, too.  She's weird.

Finally an ally! LOL! Husband is weird and he likes them  :P  :D

We celebrated getting mine done last week!  We had to drive 30 miles to get to a post office that does them.  The first time we made the trip, the booth/machine thing had broken earlier in the day and the technician wouldn't be around to fix it 'til the next day, so we had to make that 30 mile drive twice (the next-nearest one is 60 miles away!).  Needless to say, I phoned minutes before we were to leave the house to make sure the machine/booth thing was working before we made that second drive.

Also, I totally understand your near melt-down... you should've seen me the afternoon of our first attempt.  My emotion was some kind of combination of rage, frustration, sadness, and disbelief, all at once.  It was NOT okay.

So, celebrate!  Completing biometrics is a thing worth celebrating!

So trekked to Lidl last night, as its empty on Friday evenings and shopping is so much easier, and found MARSHMALLOW MATEYS (knock off version of American Lucky Charms) . £2 per box. My husband grabbed four boxes. I'm now sitting here, happily munching away my favorite cereal!

We bought a new couch! We've been talking about it for a while and decided it was time. Still have to wait nearly 3 months for delivery, but I am so happy. I really wanted a recliner because I twist myself into terrible positions trying to put my feet up, so this is a lot safer for me. And my husband even splurged on the electric controls so I won't accidentally dislocate something putting it up/down.

And it was just a "normal" day. Went shopping, had dinner, didn't get lost anywhere. That was a nice change. :)

We went into Hobby Craft since it was in the same plaza as Sofology and my husband loved letting me browse like a kid in a candy shop. I walked out with gel pens and some yarn and some storage containers so it was also successful!

I've been in there once and it was not hobby lobby so I think my craft heart was wounded lol. Need to go back soon and try again.

haha I think I *want* to be crafty  so I can find a way to get my creativity out but when it comes down to it, I can't keep myself focused long enough LOL

My husband doesn't play games very willingly so I have to stay busy.

Kristie - hobby craft isn't on par with US stores but it definitely fills a void. I've given up on finding things that are the same though so any craft store is better than none!

Totally agree on hobby lobby Vs hobby craft. The first one I went in wasn't even on par with a Michaels. I'm so happy that I found a local yarn store and that there are some great websites to buy yarn!
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

It just takes finding the craft/hobby you actually want to do. I'm really loving knitting. I think I'll pick out the yarn for my sweater. Nan said there's a sale on one of the yarn sites!
