Fanta Grape is not new here. I've seen it in lots of places here for awhile now but I don't drink it because I don't drink sugar soda.

No. Our local American sweetie shop is closed again. It only opens for 6 months every couple of years.  Lol

Maybe in the Asian market and the Spar like shops. But I've seen it for awhile now.

You guys get all the good stuff!  Don't tell me you have real Mountain Dew too?  Though honestly, my taste buds don't really enjoy MD anymore (don't tell JF).

Those shops are so dodgy.  We're convinced they're a front for many illegal things,

I don't remember you saying that you ever did!  Man.  Here I thought you were soooo much classier than me, but you drank "hillbilly swill", too!  (That is what my roommate called it!  It didn't help that she grew up in Cleveland, and I moved there from Arkansas.)

But "real" MD can't legally be sold here.  The EU bans brominated vegetable oil for use as a food additive, and Mountain Dew (many citrusy beverages) use it as an emulsifier/stabilizer.  So the recipe for MD is different in the UK to avoid the use of BVO as a stabilizer, and American expats must do without.

I don't know if the stuff imported from South Africa on Amazon contain BVO, but the shipment I received didn't look very stabilized/emulsified.  The ingredients had kind of separated out and it was cloudy and had sediment swirling around when I swished the bottle.  I didn't drink it.

I've always been a Coca-Cola Classic girl.  But I've had my times where MD was all that mattered.  ;D

I've rediscovered my Coca-Cola Classic since moving here.  I grew up with Coke, then switched to MD when I was working at Taco Bell while in university, and now I'm back to Coke.

I haven't had real Coke or Pepsi in years. I used to be a Coke Zero girl until they changed the formula here. Now I'm a Pepsi Max girl.

I only treat myself to real soda if it is a rare root beer or cream soda.

I've noticed the same thing.  We had a good one here in Uxbridge and they've mysteriously closed up. No notice or anything, just never opened again.  There might be a dead body in there but as long as they didn't bleed on the Butterfinger bars I would still buy them.

Had a giggle this morning.  See some chickens loose.  They managed to find their way out of the coop.  Quite hard, but they did it. Had a grand morning digging up all my veg beds and eating my brassicas.

Had to coax them back in with mealworms.
The giggle was because they were naughty and I rewarded their naughtyness with their favourite treat of mealworms.  I was the loser in all this. HAHA.

I'm just picturing that moment when you realized you were rewarding them for escaping and digging up your garden.  I'm glad you saw the humor in the situation... larrabee would've reacted exactly the same.

I, on the other hand, might've sworn at them.   :-[

I just realized I had a little moment of happiness this week... since taking up the guitar, my fingertips on my fretting hand, and to a lessser extent the edge of my thumb on my strumming hand (I usuallyvuse a plectrum) have been raw and burny and hurty, especially when I do the washing up or shower.  Initially, I chalked it up to building callouses, but my fingertips just keep blistering, bursting, peeling, and starting again.  The callouses never materialized.  It's been relentless, and I've been playing through it, but it really hurts.  And then I recalled that I have a nickel allergy/sensitivity, and did some cursory research... it's a thing, and there are nickel-free strings available.  I told my husband I was thinking of buying some to try them next time we need to restring my guitar, and he immediately placed the order.  We've had the set of strings waiting to go on for about a month.

Tuesday night, my husband was playing along to a [Pink] Floydian backing track and broke a string (bends, y'know).  My guitar has a tremelo, so with the missing string, the tension went wonky and everything went out of tune, and my husband looked like a child who let go of his balloon.  And I said, "Yay!  Now we can try my nickel-free strings!"

So yesterday we put on my new strings, and it's probably psychosomatic, but immediately they felt better to me.  Better days may be ahead!
