Yes. Eden felt like she couldn't breathe. She needed some time alone and Angelique was quite needy and demanding. It wasn't the wrong decision but I let her in my heart. We've vacationed together. She was like my daughter too.

My little moment of happiness is yesterday was Pancake Day! and for the first time in all my years here, I remembered it was Pancake Day early enough in the day to do something about it and I had the ingredients on hand!

Behold!

(Yes, I made crepes rather than pancakes.  It's what we prefer.)

They aren't wildly different so you don't lose any points there haha You actually gain points for managing to not burn it!

This year we came 7th out of 10th place in the Scottish Brass Band Championships and we couldn't be happier. We had moved up a section so it was harder. If we came last, we would have been sent back down a section, so coming in the middle means we're a very solid 3rd section band. We've come a long way!

I've been saving up for months for a Surface tablet.  I finally was able to get one yesterday - and with all the accessories (pen, keyboard, Office suite, and added accidental protection cover).  AND, it was during a sale, so I was able to save a few hundred quid on everything and actually spent less than I had budgeted.

I'm really chuffed with it so far, and adore the drawing/sketching programs with the pen.  My backup profession in case science didn't work out was art, so I'm really happy to be able to get back into it as a hobby.  :)  And I think it will be a great outlet for mindfulness.

Bit like da Vinci.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Very cool! They're great little computers. My husband bought me one for my birthday a few years ago when it was on sale during Prime Day.

I'm sure we'd all love to see a sketch or something you are doodling!!

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Congrats,PB!  And thanks for following up to let usknow how it went.  I was afraid I'd be waiting 'til next Friday Five.  :P

Aquila, suddenly I want a Surface.  This is not a thing I ever thought I'd want, but the sketching thing has me intrigued.  Priorities, though.  I'll put this purchase off 'til I need to replace my computer.  I'll be at 3 or 4 years with my current one this summer, but it still feels like it's my new computer, so I can't get an actual new one yet.

Just confirmed... 4 years this summer.   :o

Soooo, we found out that my wife’s parents are paying for us to visit the states in July. My question for everyone is........can I bring you something back? You have time to ponder, but I’m definitely going shopping while we are there and if I can fit something in for you.....I WILL!!
