hahahaha I know that feel! My husband spent the majority of time fixing the electrics on Friday mumbling "F*CKING COWBOY BUILDERS!" to himself.

Can definitely identify!

I’ve spent the past year and a half doing the same.. every time I work In the back garden I find a new surprise. Unfortunately, we don’t own ours and our LL is a cheap man, so I don’t think we will ever be able to have guest over for a bbq as I’m not willing to invest the money it needs.  Over the bank holiday we dug up a bush and found booze bottles, a child’s dolly, and an old toaster.. smh lol

That thing where you're renting and so can't justify spending what it takes to make it nice... that's why I was so desperate to buy a house.  Our last place was acceptable to live in, but it had no garden space to speak of, it needed work to make it nice, and it was too small for more than just the two of us so we couldn't really entertain.... plus, most importantly, it was not ours, so we couldn't see the value in improving it to the standard we wanted.  So we saved our money for a deposit and bought a house (in the middle of nowhere, where real estate is cheap).

I cannot wait to tell my husband about your toaster find!  I think you're winning this game!   ;D

Sometimes on a Sunday I watch the show "Money for Nothing" or something along those lines.  The woman hangs out at the tip and upcycles people's junk.  Pretty fun concept.

But she also said how a great place to look for treasures is in your back garden.  She said to find where the tip in the garden was from Victorian times and dig.  So there she is in her bazillion pound mansion with grounds digging in some random spot far from the "main house" and digging out countless Victorian bud vases that were in tact.

I mean, honey, not everyone has "grounds" to dig on to find buried treasure.  JF does though.   ;D   Cute idea but not practical.  ;)

hahaha!  You know I live in a tiny bungalow and don't actually live in that castle you imagined!  I don't think our electric rock is from Victorian times.  :(

Every new wonder we uncover in our house makes me feel like we've slipped one step closer to living in a glorified caravan.  Our plumbing still isn't fixed.  Did I mention that?  We only turn the main water supply on as needed to accomplish things, then we turn it off and keep it off most of the time.

I can't believe KFdancer is posting jokes about how big other people's houses are.  Come on sheeple, she is just distracting you from the truth, which is she has a dedicated laundry room AND a garage with a button.

Aaah but the garage is mine! Is it ready for the movers I’ve hired KF?
