I'm not sure my garden even remembers what rain feels like anymore or how to be green...

It really was sad, seeing out the train windows, how blasted so many of the fields were.  :-\\\\

I’m scared we newcomers were spoiled this summer that reality will be too shocking once it hits us haha! Autumn is my favorite season too.

Wait until it doesn't get light until 9am and it gets dark at 4pm. And it's cold and wet. By February, you are all but losing hope that it will end soon. You start to see the light at the end of tunnel by the end of March and you think... "Ok, I can do this. It will be warmer again soon."

What I love about Seattle is that it's almost a clone of England weather. We've had a lot of sun for the past week or so, just had 3 days of 90 degree weather (thankfully only 67 today) and looking forward to another week of sun-ish weather and warmth. I have my Seattle forecast next to my England forecasts to watch how similar they are. :)

Glad you all are enjoying some wonderful weather as well.

I lived in Copenhagen for 3 years and the weather sounds similar. Wet and cold. But I find the wind colder here in Scotland though so that might be an IA when the temperatures start dropping.

I remember feeling depressed at times because it was dark when I left for work in the morning. And dark again when I left the office to go home. We always tried to eat our lunch outdoors because that was the only way we saw any light.

Somehow the Edinburgh Christmas Market makes the early dark days worth it though.

We are loving this weather. We went on a 2 week Norwegian cruise end of June/1st Week in July and it was warm and glorious even for the 4 days we were inside the Arctic circle. Love it, and great to see the warm weather continuing even though I did buy a fan once we got back to England.

Best summer since 2013 and although we were living in the USA that year we did spend 5 months over here, staying mostly in England, Ireland and Scotland, and the worst weather we had were the 2 weeks in France with my wife's sister and her husband. They live in Edinburgh and each day he would get on his laptop and complain that they driven 1,000 miles south to be in cold wet weather while Edinburgh basked in sunshine.  However that weather did last a long time and after the 2 wet cold weeks in France we had a lovely week on the cliff tops near Dover plus a great 2 weeks in Scotland where we left them at Edinburgh and did a bit of touring.

Yep. 100% this. And not only is it dark when you wake up and head home from work (as it's only light during the day for a bit while you're in the office) but it's also cold and wet and chilling down to your bones. I wish we could just keep the clocks like this year round! (not that it solves all the problems, but it helps).

Besides my new flowers and grass in my front garden being dead, I LOVE this heat. I actually have a slight tan.

I'm trying my best not to complain because this is all I wanted when it was winter lol I too have a tan because of it, which I'm loving, but it's hard to stay positive at night when it's time for bed because it's BAKING. Other than that, I can manage and soak it all up every chance I get!

I'm not going to lie that I am happy for rain as well though. We need it. It's just getting bad that there hasn't been ANY rain (even warm rain).

I suspect that having a proper summer this year has taken the sting out of the August bank holiday fiasco for you?

Oh completely! :D It was bad because I was afraid I'd miss the amazing weather here but we've had SO much amazing weather that it's totally taken the sting out.
