Vive la France - a team of immigrants!!!

Sixteen of the 23 were immigrants or children of immigrants!
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

As much as I like this sort of thing, I'm deeply uncomfortable with the narrative that inherently arises, as if immigrants must provide a service or prove their worthiness so that hearts and minds can be won. To be fair, I've not yet come up with a way to mediate this deserving-versus-undeserving [migrants, poor, disabled, etc] premise. It's just something that's on my mind a lot.

I feel the same about disability inspiration porn as well. But we are at a crossroads with a lot of negative attitudes towards immigrants as a whole, and I tend to think positive press may possibly be good right now. The refugee resettlement group in Buffalo I've supported in the past made a huge post celebrating it, because winning a World Cup is a huge athletic achievement with a global audience.
