The financial requirement is £18,600.

You will need 6 months of bank statements to match the 6 months of pay slips.

Which was your legal marriage, the US or the UK one?

Are all your items of correspondence in both names?

Which was your legal marriage, the US or the UK one?

Last time showed on the application form the date of the english marriage and just included the american one for l of it.  We had been living long distance for most of our marriage so we included both at the intial entry visa stage and so carried on with that for FLR

Are all your items of correspondence in both names

Good!   :)

It looks like you are very close to the 28 days with the pay statements. Are the bank statements and employers letter within it?

Thanks Larrabee

Yeeeeeeesh panic central!

It looks like you are very close to the 28 days with the pay statements. Are the bank statements and employers letter within in

no they will be out! I asked my employer to not date anything before 20/7 for that reason SO just double checked and stupidly didnt notice the paylsips are stamped 16/7 and their letter dated 18/7 - just emailed them asking them to re do it all

Im so glad youve stated the obvious to me - been so wrapped up trying to get it all etc that I missed the dates!

My HR. Teams first attempt was rejected by me - standard reference that didn't give 75% of the information required.

So hopefully 3rd attempt i will get the right paperwork!

Thanks again

I think they prefer that the bank statements be unaltered.  I don't know how important this is.

But check the dates of your bank statements that they span six FULL months.  For example, if they start February 1, they must span all to July 31st to cover six full months.  If they start January 18th, they must go to July 17th.  Etc.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Not sure how important it is, but we recommend not to touch the bank statements at all. You definitely should not blank out anything on the statements, but don't know if they mind highlighting or not.

I usually recommend the full 6 months to start and end on the same date of a month, just to be safe. For example:
- Feb 1st to Aug 1st
or
- Jan 18th to July 18th

May I just jump in here and ask if I (the British sponsor) need to include my National Insurance Number on my husband's spouse visa application?
Thanks

This thread is about applying for permanent residence in the U.K. after spending 5 years in the U.K. on spousal visas, so it’s not really relevant to your situation.

It’s much easier for us to help if you ask all your questions in your own visa thread :).

However, have a look on the VAF4a Appendix 2 form to see if your NI Number is needed:

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to assist me.

Im now confused with the bank statement thing as I thought it was just 6 months of bank statements to cross check with the payslips

I get paid on 18th of the month

So i have

1 - payslips for February through to July

2  - 6 Bank statements  to show paid each month

The bank statement dates are

1 - dated 08/03/2018 for period 09/02 to 08/03
2 - dated 08/04/2018 for period 09/03 to 06/04 (no transactions after 6/4 until 8/4)
3 - dated 08/05/2018 for period 09/04 to 08/05 (no transactions after 8/5 until 10/5)
4 - dated 10/006/2028 for period 10/05 to 08/06
5  - dated 08/07/2018 for period 09/06 to 07/07
6 - dated 24/7 (got it ad hoc) for period 09/07 until 24/07

So does that mean I now need a statement that goes from 24/7 though to 8th August as well?

Thanks

And

Question 2.6

Well I know the answer to 2.6 but I dont understand 2.5?

Yeah, it's not you, 2.5 doesn't make sense!

I think I put something along the lines of,- we have been in a relationship for x years y months and living together for x years and y months. So covered both the bases that way.

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to assist me.

Im now confused with the bank statement thing as I thought it was just 6 months of bank statements to cross check with the payslips

It's 6 FULL months of payslips and 6 FULL months of bank statements corresponding with the payslips. They both have to cover the SAME 6 months (to the day) and every payslip must show on the bank statements.

So, if you get paid on the 18th of the month, depending on what date you apply for the visa, your 6 months for the payslips and bank statements will have to either be:
- 18th February to 18th August (6 months exactly)
or
- 18th January to 18th July (6 months exactly)

Therefore, your bank statements must cover every single day from 18th Feb to 18th August, or 18th Jan to 18th July.

At the moment, if you only include payslips from February to July, that's only 5 months, not 6 months... which means the visa will be refused.

Also, at the moment, your bank statements only cover from 9th February to 24th July, which is 5 months and 2 weeks... which again means the visa will be refused.

BOTH the payslips and bank statements must cover an entire 6 months exactly and not 1 day less. This may mean including 7 months of each to cover a full 6 months.

So, say you start with the February payslip, you will need:
Payslips:
Feb 18th
Mar 18th
Apr 18th
May 18th
June 18th
July 18th
Aug 18th

Bank statements:
Feb 9th - Mar 8th
Mar 9th - Apr 8th
Apr 9th - May 8th
May 9th - Jun 8th
June 9th - July 8th
July 9th- Aug 8th
Aug 9th - Aug 18th (or any date after Aug 18th)

OR if you can use the January payslip:
Payslips:
Jan 18th
Feb 18th
Mar 18th
Apr 18th
May 18th
June 18th
July 18th

Bank statements:
Jan 9th - Feb 8th
Feb 9th - Mar 8th
Mar 9th - Apr 8th
Apr 9th - May 8th
May 9th - Jun 8th
June 9th - July 8th
July 9th - July 18th (or any date after July 18th)

I read it as:

2.5 - how many years and months have you lived together? (i.e. 2 years and 6 months)

2.6 - what date did you start living together? (i.e. 4th January 2016)
