Hello again everybody!
« on: July 30, 2018, 01:03:37 PM »
I just thought I'd stick my head round the door and say hello again & we've not forgotten you.  It's been a while. To all those going through the process of applying for a spouse visa - hang in there. The waiting is frustrating, but the future is worth waiting for.

A is here and settled. We are both deliriously happy & grateful to you guys for all the help you gave us in getting to this point. Sadly she's already experienced the best and the worst of the NHS because she fell in the snow in February and chipped her kneecap! The good: 'Oh, your leg is broken. Nevermind, here's your treatment'. The bad: 'what do you mean I have to wait three weeks for an MRI appointment I might not be able to make and then another two weeks while you send me a letter? Haven't you guys heard of email?'

Life's good.
Online application: 29 June
Biometrics: 5 July
Package sent to UKVI: 5 July
Package arrived: 7 July
UKVI opened and confirmed receipt: 11 July
Decision email from UKVI: 2 October (59 BDs)
Passport returned 4 October - Approved!
Flight to UK: 14 October
Happiness: 15 October

Hey buddy!  :D Great to see you! Sorry about A's knee. Great not getting a bill though, isn't it!  :)

Likewise!

Yes, the not getting a bill bit is definitely a good thing.  Her leg is definitely a lot better now, although she's still having physio.  The only real consequence left is that she was learning to drive stick and this has set her back months.  There's now absolutely no chance she's going to pass a test on a manual car before her first 12 months is up, so either we change the car for an automatic, or she goes back to a provisional licence and L plates.

Generally though, she's delighted at living here.

Oh what a total pita when she was doing so well too.  :-\\\\  I vote to stick with it though, what's a few more months with L plates in the grand scheme of things?  :D

Don't L plates mean you can't drive on your own?

Russ, sorry to hear she was injured but 3 weeks for an MRI is actually pretty good! I have waited much longer in the US. Glad she's doing better now even though the physio is ongoing. (physio is my savior, I'd be lost without it!)
