Did you hear back from your solicitor, and there's no news, or no word from the solicitor and there could be news?

Nothing from the solicitor...Both my fiance and I are getting a bit frustrated with our solicitor...
Quick summary.
When Nathan and I first hired a solicitor we had a different one from the one we have now. He submitted our application, docs and passport before he left the company. The entire time had questions, comments concerns he or his assistant would get back to us within 24-48 hours.
We got transferred to a new solicitor 2 weeks later. Not a a introduction, no updates, doesn't email back. To get any response we had to contact her boss because we waited a week an a half for a response from her and nothing. So we emailed her boss and her boss contacted us 24 hours after we complained.  Of course after her boss talked to her what happens, she contacted...Her assistant always seems to be on vacation.
I am honestly ready to already email her boss again and ask for a transfer of a new solicitor because we have no faith in our current one.

Wow that sounds like a huge mess. I would definitely email her boss again! You need some clarity! Even if your application hasn't been looked at yet or assessed, at least you would know something. That is so fishy!! I am so very sorry that you're still waiting. 40BD is still in the window, but a long wait for priority. What's worse, is that if the Home Office did send an email to your solicitor, you can't track the package to see where it is. You still have time, as your wedding isn't until November (correct?) but I don't blame you for being upset. That's kind of ridiculous. I hope you didn't pay outrageous fees for this.

May I ask what happened with the first solicitor? Why would they assign him/her to you right as they were leaving the company?!

Sending so many hugs your way.

Yeah, it would be nice to be kept in the loop as to what is going on, especially we aren't the primary contact to get information. Our last solicitor put them as the primary contact. And we went with a company that was trusted and put on the gov.uk website.  They did assign us to another solicitor in the same office as a previous but for some reason we got re routed to a different office.  Our solicitor was in the Bristol Office and now we are assigned to a solicitor Hounslow (West London).
Our previous solicitor left to open his own immigration law firm.
If we don't hear anything by Wednesday we will be contacting them and complaining.
Nathan and I already agreed that we won't be using them when we apply for the spouses visas. We will praise our previous solicitor but this woman won't be getting a good review.  [smiley=mad.gif]

Of course! That’s the least that they can do. I’m sorry to hear about your situation.  :(  Do you have the UPS tracking number for your return package? If so, at least you can check that yourself. That way if the solicitor doesn’t tell you about a decision made email, you can check it on your own!

We are remaining calm, civil, and trying remain patient...LOL....TRYING...Key word in that phrase...LOL
Like I said though, if we haven't heard anything by mid week next week we will be contacting her boss again and we'll just go through her and explain that we have no faith in our solicitor and we don't feel we are getting the results that were promised to us when we hired them.

I have no idea what I would do without this forum! This entire process and all the feelings involved are really a lot for one person to handle. (well two, Tom is in this too!) But it's nice to talk to others who are going through the same thing, or who have before!
