So guys my visa is in the mail!! Sheffield should get it tomorrow.
After I put it in the mail I got a HUGE stomach ache, thinking - did I do everything right, did I forget anything?! I was freaking out a little bit but my parents and husband kept saying you've/we've done everything we can and now we just have to wait. It's so scary and nerve racking. It's really hard for me not to worry about it. I completely understand how some of you ladies have been feeling about this process now. I know I need to stay positive and just trust that we did all that we could. No one really understands how I'm feeling right now, I guess no one does until you're in this situation. My husband is so calm and collected and says I'm worrying too much, I'm sure he's right. I sure hope he is! Hopefully I'll relax more and try to stay busy until we hear back. Fingers crossed we'll hear back in about 7-8 weeks with amazing news. I just needed to vent that!
Also, question! Did any of you get a interview phone call? how likely are we to get a phone call?
They only reach out for an interview if they suspect your employment or relationship is fraudulent.
As larrabee says, as a US applicant, the chances of them thinking that of your application is near zero.
If, however, you were from a high-risk country and it looks like your sponsor is employed within a local community of people originating from high-risk countries, then this raises a red flag immediately as it fits the pattern of a classic visa scam - so it's almost certain that they will call your sponsor and their employer to check.
