Even though I'm still waiting and not yet living in Scotland, I feel a responsibility to say, "whit's wrong wi' scootlund?!"

Ohmigosh!   Based on reports from all the UKY living up there, Scotland is a wonderful place!  I just thought it might be a bit far for people to go for a meetup.  If you're willing to make the trip, please come down.  Or maybe we can do one further north next time?

Oh, sorry, I was just joking! I know it's a bear of a journey.
I asked for my visa to start 1 October so I probably won't be there in September, but I hope you guys will post all about it here! (And maybe next year for a Scotland meet-up?)

Tom took me to Edinburgh Castle and proposed!! OF COURSE I SAID YES. He's such a romantic <3

Scotland is beautiful. I was in the lowlands, and the rolling hills were amazing to this Louisiana girl. I would love to see the Isle of Skye, and the highlands. #bucketlist

I feel like a planned meetup would be a great way to do some exploring up there!

I think KoD is in adventuring elsewhere at the end of September but we could definitely make the trip to Bristol. Traffic *in* Bristol is a nightmare sometimes though from what friends who live there have said, so is there anywhere people think might be good just outside of it?

You will need to buy tickets when they go on sale in December, I believe. Otherwise, you will most likely not get tickets.

TeamTollie and I have been talking (uh oh!), and we have made some very tentative/loose plans, and now we'd like to open it up to the rest of this Blizzard.  We don't know where everybody will be, but from what we do know, we came up with this really rough map:

We would like to propose a meetup at the end of September.  This should give people just getting their decision made emails time to get their visas and get over here and settle in a bit.  Plus, it's my birthday week, so my husband will be off work! ;)

Based on our map, we decided on Bristol for the location, which should give us plenty of options for a venue, and it appears to be fairly accessible and centrally located (for the non-Scottish contingent, at least... please come down if you're interested!) for the Welsh and English contingents.

Summary:

When:  September 29th (or we can consider different dates if this is a problem for someone who really wants to be there)
Where:  Somewhere in Bristol (tbd)
Who:  UKY members, and spouses/families if they want to join in

I'd be interested in this too.... only problem is, I don't arrive back in the UK until October 3rd.

If there's any chance of making it the next weekend (6th or 7th Oct), I'll be in Bristol then anyway, as I'll be staying with my parents for a few days when I get home.

The only reason that time frame wouldn't work for me, is because my wedding is 13 October, and my family members will start arriving that week. However, I think the earliest anyone in my family is arriving is 5 October, so this is very, very possible!! We want you there too, ksand24!!!

Well, I'll be on leave from work for 1.5 weeks when I get back, so I should be free to meet up any time in the week too, not just the weekend :).

You know, all the years I've been on the forum, I've never actually attended a UKY meet-up! I thought about it a few years ago, when there used to be occasional meals organised in London, but I didn't actually go to one.

My inlaws live in Bristol and traffic there IS a nightmare, but outside of Bristol should be fine.  It's their terrible traffic planning inside the city that's bad.

I though KoD was away on October?
