Feeling a tad anxious....My flight is due to leave Tuesday, 4 September...and now there is a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico heading for Louisiana "within the next 5 days" I am hoping I'm gone before it gets remotely close. Not to mention, the idea of a hurricane hitting home within days of my departure doesn't help my nerves either.I need a hug
Hey there,I am assuming you’re flying on BA from MSY? My partner works for BA and just checked their internal notifications and there doesn’t seem to be a worry about anything there yet. Keep an eye on it and if things are not improving call BA straightaway and get them to rebook you through somewhere else. Also check the website for any advisories. I lived in Fort Lauderdale for a while and know the idea of a hurricane is nerve wracking but they have a habit of changing course at a moments notice. So try to take it easy and think about more exciting things like getting here and having a pint at your local.
I am flying from LFT-IAH (United) and then IAH-MAN (Singapore). It helps to know that things aren't looking too bad yet...I am probably just over-worrying. But I also don't like the idea of a hurricane hitting my home right after I've left.
We had a number of board members in/around Houston last year, thankfully everyone was OK. But it's hard to leave and needing to trust that your family will do what they need and remain safe. It's a natural worry, but we all know storms change paths and intensity all the time. You will get to England and have a nice trip to France!
