Welcome home!  What a whirlwind move!  It was dizzying enough for me to just come over with all the things I could carry, and you went on a European holiday the day after you arrived!  I'm truly impressed!  But it does all sound wonderful.  I couldn't be happier for you.  Yay!

HELLO!

I'm baaack!!!

Update: After arriving in Swindon and seeing my new apartment for one evening and having Nando's with my husband, we drove to Dover the very next day, took a ferry to France and enjoyed a lovely French dinner in Calais! We promptly fell asleep after dark, and the next day we spent driving around Calais, into Bruges for a quick lunch and tour of the town, then we "popped" into Holland for a lovely (and chilly) dinner by the beach!! Once we left France, we drove to Kent to meet with his family. I love his family so much! I'm still on cloud nine. I think this week will be the -real- settling in week. I'll have the entire week to explore the town, and the apartment! We've already made a few changes.

:D Missed you all on the forum!

I'd be taking a big old nap today!  Sounds fabulous - and exhausting!

It was a bit crazy, but Tom was determined to take me to Europe for my birthday! I just so happened to land the day before my birthday....!I had to unpack most of my stuff and leave it in an unfamiliar apartment and then pack a few outfits so I unpacked, then i was still living out of a bag for 5 days!! Home now, all unpacked...ready to explore!

Okay I'm really starting to feel it today :( I'm seeing people get approved that have the same email confirmation date as me. I'm on 27 business days now. I submitted online on august 9 with the travel date of Oct 6. Do they order it by travel date? That is what my husband has been thinking. I'm hoping that we're just in a slow pile and not in non-priority  :o I really thought when @MrsMagpie heard on friday that I would be this week.  ??? ugggh sorry I just needed to vent!!

No, they don't even know the date you chose until they are well into processing your application. I totally feel you on being taken out of order (it happened to us recently and it sucks big time.) but just know, they are going fairly quickly at the moment so you shouldn't have too much longer to wait.  :)

You’ll get there :).

The travel date is irrelevant in regards to processing time because they won’t see your travel date until the day they actually make the decision, and it only takes 1-2 hours to make the decision.

99% of the processing time is your application sitting in line, with no one having seen it yet. Then they pick it up, make the decision and send everything back to you.

The date you submitted online is also irrelevant. The processing time count starts from the date you receive the email from Sheffield saying they have your application.

Yes, it does seem like they are going faster these days. I don't think I will hear today but fingers crossed it's next week :)

Vent away! We've been there. I was miserable for months, waited 36BD.

I think if others in your circle are receiving their e-mails, you will too! I forgot, where did you say you were moving to?

That sure is a long time to wait! UGH that really sucks... Hope you're enjoying time with your hubby :)

I sure hope you're right. I'll be in Leicester. It's about an hour (on train) north of London. My husband was born and raised there. It's a lot different than minnesota haha but I like it!

Hang in there, Carly! Today is not over. I received my email around 10 AM EST. It may still come. But I don't think you're far off at all. I felt just like you did when I saw someone else on our similar timeline get theirs and I hadn't yet. And then mine came. It's coming. Sending virtual hugs to you because you know I know exactly how you're feeling. <3
