Old passport missing - spousal visa
« on: August 03, 2018, 05:44:59 PM »
Hi all!

I swear, I feel like the questions just never end but I am starting to get so close to being ready to submitting application and sending off docs, etc. so it's a good thing. Anyway, here's the situation...

So, I've got all of my old passports except one. And as I went trying to find them I remembered that the one that is missing never got sent back to me. This one was from when I had my first marriage and I sent in the old one because I was changing my name. They never sent it back or I never received it. And I guess I didn't realize that that wasn't normal at the time. I assumed they kept it because it was a name change or something. But now I know differently. It's been since 2012. Anyone have any experience in how I should handle this situation? Is it going to be a problem?

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!

No, it won't be a problem. You will just declare it lost.

... first marriage ...

You will need to include the divorce certificate with your application.

Yes, I have that included already as well as my husband's divorce papers from his first marriage.  ;)
