I could go on ALL DAY LONG about breakfast. By FAR my favorite meal and SO SO SO many yummy options.

JF - how do you stay so thin?  You eat like a man!   ;D

Breakfast has always been my favorite as well. But I can see where it's just not going to be quite as exciting anymore... unless I cook it at home.

My go-to breakfast:

Pancakes w/ butter and maple syrup
Bacon (cooked crispy)
Home fries w/ onion and bell pepper
cup of coffee

I wish I could get away with eating all of that everyday but if I want to fit into my jeans, I definitely cannot. Most days I stick to a bowl of cereal or oatmeal or toast w/ butter, and a piece of fruit.  ;)

If the attached image shows what we mean by home fries (in my southern family (Arkansas), we call them "fried potatoes"), I have them at least once or twice a week.  Either as part of "Mexican Potato Salad" (see other attached image; it's a base of lettuce, crushed tortilla chips, refried beans, spicy shredded chicken, guacamole, diced tomatoes, and crumbled cheddar cheese, surrounded by seasoned fried potatoes), or with fried eggs and toast (they'd be lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, a bit of garlic powder, asafoetida (or onion powder if you're allowed to), rosemary, and thyme).

That salad looks so fresh and yummy!   :D

Oh, I am so not a sweet for breakfast person.  I can have sweet along with protein , but I can't have a donut or pastry by itself, otherwise, I am chewing my arm off in 2 minutes.

I am a breakfast person though. Usually make myself a sandwich for breakfast either 1.) egg /egg mayo 2.) peanut butter and banana  3.) Ham or roast beef 4.) Cheese

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

I can't eat it by itself either.  It needs *at least* 3 friends to satisfy me.  <cue why I'm on a diet>

Hashbrowns are more work... *puzzled*  How do you make your hashbrowns that it's easier than home fries?  I love hashbrowns with fake cheese (I really really miss Waffle House's chicken sandwich plate with hashbrown scattered and covered).
YUMMMMMMM!!!

YESSSSSS!!!!

I think we all need to post our "regular" breakfast order.  My go to is:

Scrambled eggs with cheese
Homefries
White Toast - I always use at least two different jams.  I love Apple Cinnamon the best, but I like ALL the jam.
And if I'm really hungry, I'll add bacon or sausage patties
Everyone knows sourdough toast is better!

It should be noted that I never said 'a doughnut'.  It was plural.  ;D ;)   I don't think I've ever stopped at 1 doughnut in my life!

I can’t say I ever really enjoyed sweet breakfasts because it makes me feel jittery for an hour after and then I’m starving.

I love biscuits and gravy for breakfast and a skillet that’s served at Denny’s. It has Mexican chorizo, potatoes, green peppers, onions, cheese with two eggs. Migas are also pretty tasty too. It’s essentially scrambled eggs,  tomatoes, peppers, onions (I sense a theme) and crispy corn tortilla chips mixed in with shredded cheese.

But my absolute favorite breakfast are huevos rancheros with green chile  salsa and a side of Mexican rice. My father’s partner of 28 years owns a Mexican restaurant in our hometown and her huevos rancheros were voted the best in the city for many years which is an accomplishment in a city with an 80% Hispanic population and most restaurants are Mexican. We never saw eye-to-eye but I always gave her credit for her exceptional cooking. She was kind enough to let me in on the preparation of this recipe which I dearly appreciated when I moved to England. I found masa harina there so I made this  breakfast myself.

When I lived there years ago, very few places were open early enough to serve breakfast, apart from Little Chef and other really horrible service station cafes. 23 years ago, my best friend always dreamed of having an American breakfast only diner. I’m thinking he should re-visit that dream.

Oooh, cinnamon raisin toast is so delish!

That makes me think of another breakfast item I'm gonna miss... Real bagels from the deli or bagel shop... I love a cinnamon raisin bagel! Or a salt bagel! Mmmm... Grocery store bagels just don't make the grade.

Oh, I really miss a good bagel.

It just never even occurred to me that that would be something I wouldn’t be able to get in the UK... and then I woke up in the UK one day craving one. And that craving lasted until I got back to America and got my fix.

Yeah, there is a huge gap in the market there. Maybe that could be your new business opportunity!  :)
