3 grand seems excessive. I work as travel agent, the highest fare I've seen to London is around $2500. If you have any AAAs near you, they have a travel agency there. They might be able to find you a reasonable price ticket. They also have direct contacts with the airlines so they can find out about your taking your cat with you.

That's not her airfare, $3,000 is what she has been quoted by a pet transport company to move her cat.  :)

So excited for everybody. :)..come on OCT. so we can get married..then come on November..ready to get this show on the road... :D
Question ... is it just me or is anybody else stressing about what, and how to pack and eeekkkk...I have enough clothes to have a boutique lol  ::) and so many fall / winter things and shoes ... I'm planning on taking 3 suitcases and a carry-on..what do you put in the carry-on...I've flown a lot, but just to Vegas so didn't need but 1 suitcase, but never needed a carry-on....  How do you choose what to take and what to leave  ???

Put your most valuable things in hand luggage. Your jewellery, camera, laptop, important papers, etc and any medication.  :)

I'm so happy for everyone!! I'm still waiting for my email.. next week we'll be getting into counting over 25 BDs (with priority). It seems like forever but I know this is just the home stretch. I'm moving my Chihuahua with me, already started the action plan for her 😊.  I'm trying not to get anxious over everything

We're going to need to see photos of your Chihuahua!  :D

Packing is the biggest struggle for me right now, and I never even thought I had a lot of clothing and things. I’ve already sent my husband off with two smaller suitcases last time he left, and now I’m taking two big suitcases, a carry on and shipping a box and I still am getting rid of so much.

Reduce as much as you can now! Donate or find new homes for your things because it’ll save you a lot of frustration.

I know, we don't realize what we actually have until time to do something other than stick in a closet or drawer.  I am slowly finding new homes for things, Andy will take my cherished merino sweaters back with him and that will ease a bit of space, i think i need to get some of those spacebag things for a couple of  my coats and any other bulky sweaters and see if i can squish them down nice and flat. I mean really, who needs 15 pair of jeans LOL ::)

For my flight I transferred AMEX points and got a frequent flyer one way. I put my whole life into three suitcases (paid $300 for checked bags) and donated the rest to goodwill. I’m so happy for the excitement around here. Things may get tricky- it is the same language but it’s not the same country and things at first you may miss (decent Mexican food, but because  I’m half Mexican just make at home). Learn to be ok rebuilding credit and having to take a driving test again (although you can drive on your US license until you get it converted). Just keep your head high. Also, if you still have credit card bills or student loans in the US, use transferwise. I paid a fortune to transfer funds to the US but then wised up.

Don't forget about little memories of home...I have 10 packets of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix in my suitcase bc you can't get it there! Charity shops are great for bulky winter clothes.  I'm lucky that my husband made 3 trips back during our visa wait so be took a large suit case each time. I just have a small rolling duffel and a carry on!
