Okay okay okay okay . I know it's pretty much only me who is disorganised enough to want/need a Facebook invite but the best way to do it was this :

https://www.facebook.com/groups/679288942433337/?multi_permalinks=679289379099960&notif_id=1537262706220187&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic

I created a FB group (above) for anybody else that feels inclined to track events that way. Couldn't do just an event without making it public (and I don't know everybody's real names so couldn't really gatekeep who was getting in/out of events). I made the group so that anybody that wanted to find it could but needed to ask request (I asked "where did you find this group" to kept gatekeep who was actually coming from this site) and then - once in - you could see the events.

At request, I've shut off all commenting beyond admin comments to ensure conversations stay on UKY and not FB and to keep the focus of that FB group to ONLY creating events for those that need the reminders (and it can make it easier to share photos).

Feel free to join if you're on FB and want to. If not, I won't be offended it's totally fine. If people further up north want to create a meetup and use that page to create an event, I'm happy to make whoever an admin so they can do that if they have issues just being a member.

Pups are welcome too.  Though they will be looked down upon by the cats (except mine who is too old and thick to care).

Sometimes I think my dog might be a cat...until she's around cats and then wants to try to play with them like they're dogs.

I miss Copper.  She had a proper resting b*tch face.  Whenever a dog would come over, she would find the highest point in the room, sit tall and wrap her tail across her paws all perfect, and cast her eyes downward at the dog.  Proper Boss b*tch Cat.  ;D

Excellent.  Now we are talking about cats (and have the photo!), Jimbo is sure to come around to this thread!  He'll be RSVPing any second now.  Yay!

I would say yes, it'd be nice to be able to plan meetups in other parts of the country!

Absolutely Kristie! :D

Just to clarify: I only made it to make it easier for those of us that prefer FB events as reminders to keep track of events. FB isn't for everybody here and that's cool. Some of us prefer FB for event reminders and some of us are find with using our own calendars (I am RUBBISH with using my own diary LOL). All events posted there should be open to all UKY members who are wanting to make the drive (at least that's my thought process) and we can use that page to make any UKY-related meetups (will just be crossposts between this forum and the page so that people have options and we can accommodate both types of people).

Even if you can't make this event, definitely still free to join the page because there may be another meetup in future you can make and it's the easiest way for me to give access to those wanting FB invites without knowing people's real names :p Thought it would also give an easier way for people to dump photos into the events pages for others to enjoy (and I can make separate Flickr albums or something to share here for those not on the page). We've turned off commenting on the group itself so that the discussions all stay here on UKY.

So, yes! You are more than welcome to join. Everybody who wants to utilise that page should :)
