FLR(M) appointment booking before getting Married
« on: September 13, 2018, 07:17:23 PM »
Hi,

I wanted to know if I can book an appointment (Same-Day, Premium) before getting married for an FLR(M) visa?

My Fiance' is British and I am not.

Current Visa: Tier 2 ICT (Long Term)

Planned Date of Marriage: 15-Nov-2018 (This is booked)

Expected Date of Visa Appointment: 21- Nov-2018 (+/- 3 days)

We will be married before the actual day of appointment and will have the marriage certificate as well.

We live in different cities but meet every weekend and planning to move jobs to stay together after marriage.

It is just that I have to go for a Premium appointment in November so want to book in advance as the slots fill quite fast.

Please advice:
1. If this is possible?
2. Whether Paper or Online would make any difference?

Thank You.

Yes, if in person appointments are still a thing, you can book it before the wedding, to take place after the wedding.  I had mine the day after we got married.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Exactly this.

The Home Office have eluded to stopping in person services in October but haven’t officially announced the date.

Wow!! Thanks for the quick response.

Do we need to submit the filled application while booking the appointment? I am asking this because we have a question in the application: Current Relationship with Sponsor?

So if I have to submit the application before the appointment then it would be Fiance' and I am applying in the married category (Which seems contradictory)

If I don't have to submit the application beforehand then it is alright.

Thanks.

Sorry to be a pain but just last question:

Your statement applies to both Paper and Online application, is that correct?

I know it applies to the paper form, which we recommend using anyway, since the online form has all kinds of problems with it... since with the online form your application date is the date you attend the appointment.

But for the online form you have to complete and submit the form before you are allowed to book the appointment... so I imagine you would have to be married first if you applied online, as the application date may actually be the date you apply online.

Thanks a lot.

I will fill in the Paper application then.

Cheers!

Hello,

Sorry, i had one more question.

It is regarding the accommodation proof for first time FLR(M)

We both live in different cities due to our Jobs.

I live in a rented accommodation in Wales and she lives in her Parent's house near London.

As I am on Tier 2(ICT), I can't change my job and move closer.

Our intention is to get Married on 15th November 2018 and get my visa changed by 25th November 2018(Using Premium Service)

After that I can look for another job near London and we can move in to a rented accommodation.

I am confused about the Accommodation Documents as we will be married (15th November) on our Appointment day (around 20th November) but still not be living together.

One way that I could think of is to ask her Parent's to give me the required documents so that I can prove that I can live in her parent's house.

Or should I just mention that we are not living together but will do after Visa Change, problem with that one is the section in the form where it asks you 'Where do you intend to live together permanently in the U.K.'

Obviously, you know much more than me and was wondering if you could suggest the best way.

Please Help :)

Book an appointment. Do NOT file online application, just use the paper form FLR M.
