Thank you!!

Regarding the missing passport I knew the year it was issued but not the exact dates.  I will list it as stolen.

Should I explained that the missing passport was the first passport I held and is from the Philippines?

Thanks

Here's a crazy question - my husband said it may be smarter for me to go to Bristol with all my visa documents and we can make an in person appointment there where we will be seen quickly and then get an answer on our visa application faster.

Has anybody ever done it this way? It sounds too good to be true to me but, then again, I am a huge pessimist.

Unfortunately you can’t apply for a spousal visa inside the UK.  You must wait for it to be approved from the US.

When you are filling out the passport section, it will ask where the passport was issued or the issuing agency. So that is where you will put "Philippines." But you will also mention it in your cover letter explanation of why it is missing. Again, just give the information that you know for sure. If you don't know or remember, then you don't know or remember.  :)

Hey guys,

My husband is sending his documents to me tomorrow so they should be here by Wednesday or Thursday. Do you think I should finish my application now so I can make an appointment or should I wait until I have everything in hand so I can double check it and make sure we're good to go?

Also, if I get that VFS Silver Premium package for $775, do I still have to go to the consulate to get my biometrics, etc. taken or will that just be one stop shopping at the VFS center?

Aaaand lastly (for now), is this a good introduction letter or is there something else I should add? Thank you in advance for your help!!

To Whom It May Concern:

I am applying for a UK Spousal Settlement visa as the wife of XXX, a citizen of the UK.

XXX and I met on the first of June, 2012 and have been together for over 6 years. We email/text daily, FaceTime throughout the week and generally do not go more than two months without traveling to see each other. We were engaged in July of 2017 and married on the 30th of June, 2018. We are hopeful you grant me this visa so I can join XXX at our home in Long Ashton on the 27th of December, 2018.

Enclosed you will find documents supporting our relationship, financial independence from government funds and accommodation. We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards,

No, you should wait until you have everything in your hands and you have double-checked it all, and it’s all ready to mail to UKVI for processing.

You cannot use the Silver Premium service as your visa type is not eligible for it.

You are applying for a settlement visa, so you need to purchase the Settlement Priority Processing package, which I believe is $793.

You will need to book your biometrics as a USCIS Application Support Center, NOT at a VFS center. Then after giving biometrics you have 5 days to mail all your documents to UKVI.

Warm Regards,

You should not include anything about your relationship, as that goes in your husband’s sponsor letter instead.

This letter is a package contents letter only, so you just want to say:

To The Entry Clearance Officer:

Please find enclosed my application and supporting documents for a settlement visa to join my husband in the UK.

[Include a paragraph to explain any of the following, if applicable:
- any criminal convictions you may have
- any previous refused visas/entries to the UK or previous illegal working or overstaying in the UK]

I am enclosing the following documents in support of my application:
[list every document in the package, in order - we can give you the correct order list for your documents]

Yours Faithfully,

Your Name

Ugh, that one costs $1900. What a bummer.

Thank you so much for this info. Much appreciated!

The settlement premium package is $1,900 but we don't recommend using it because it is so expensive and does not guarantee a result any quicker than the regular settlement priority service which does cost $793 and we do recommend using.

I don't think that one exists here. They have a Bronze Premium for $310; Silver Premium for $775; Gold Premium for $1800 and Settlement Premium for $1900. Only the last one makes any reference to settlement visas.

Oh geez, duh. Apparently I haven't mastered the art of scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

Thank you. Stay tuned for my next stupid question. I'm sure it'll be a good one!

Yeah, it definitely does exist :) - it’s the longest-running service offered by VFS.... the $793 priority processing service has been around since 2010 and almost everyone here on the forum has used it (hundreds, if not thousands of people), whereas the $1900 Settlement Premium Service was only introduced 10 months ago and only about 5 people here have used it so far (and most were unhappy with the service).

In case it hasn't been said already - make sure your husband is using DHL, UPS, or FedEx to send you his documents.  Do NOT use Royal Mail or ParcelForce.

I'm almost ready to post what I'm sending but have a quick question re: the VAF 4A form. If my sponsor meets/exceeds the financial requirement (3.21), is there any need to fill out any of the other Part 3 sections?
