I'm almost ready to post what I'm sending but have a quick question re: the VAF 4A form. If my sponsor meets/exceeds the financial requirement (3.21), is there any need to fill out any of the other Part 3 sections?

Does your sponsor meet Category A or Category B of the financial requirement?

Category A is where they have been with the same UK employer, earning £18,600 or more, for at least 6 months and are sending 6 months of payslips and bank statements

Category B is where they have been with the same UK employer, earning £18,600 or more, for LESS THAN 6 months and are sending 12 months of payslips and bank statements to show total earnings of £18,600 or more.

If they are Category A, they answer the following questions:
3.1-3.12 and 3.21

If they are Category B, they answer the following questions:
3.1-3.22

Please take a look and let me know what I'm missing. THANK YOU in advance!

I will print out the application of course and include the biometric page when I have it done.

This is what I currently have to send:
Appendix 2 form
Former & current passports
Two passport photos
My letter of support
A copy of my husband’s (Sponsor) passport
A passport photo of my husband (Sponsor)
My husband’s (Sponsor) letter of support
Proof of my husband’s (Sponsor) continued employment
My husband’s (Sponsor) pay slips for the past 6 months
My husband’s (Sponsor) bank statements for the past 6 months
One copy of my husband’s (Sponsor) Electricity Bill
A letter from my husband’s (Sponsor) father confirming housing
Marriage Certificate
Photos confirming relationship
Relationship correspondence (we’ve been together for 6 ½ years so there is a lot of this.

Additional questions:
Do I need to send our flight itineraries throughout the years as well or are the photos proof enough?

Should I include FaceTime call logs?

Okay, you do NOT need:
- a second passport photo of you
- a passport photo of your husband
- copy of my husband’s (Sponsor) Electricity Bill

I’m just going to rearrange the documents into the right sections and order for the package. Missing documents are in red.

Applicant’s Documents
- priority processing receipt, if purchasing
- return shipping label
- contents letter
- printed online application

- Appendix 2 form
- stamped biometrics appointment sheet
- Former & current passports
- ONE passport photo

Sponsor’s Documents
- A copy of my husband’s (Sponsor) passport PHOTO PAGE ONLY
- My husband’s (Sponsor) letter of support

Financial Requirement
- My husband’s (Sponsor) pay slips for the past 6 months (must cover every single day of the 6 months and be at least £1550 before tax each month. Latest payslip must be dated within 28 days of applying online)

- My husband’s (Sponsor) bank statements for the past 6 months (must cover every single day of the same 6 months and show every payslip deposit. Latest bank statement must be dated within 28 days of applying online)

- letter from his employer, dated within 28 days of applying online, stating ALL of the following
1) current employment and salary
2) length of employment
3) length of time earning current salary
4) type of employment

- original job contract

- latest P60

Accommodation Requirement
-  letter from my husband’s (Sponsor) father confirming housing
- your sponsor’s father’s Land Registry document

Relationship Documents
- Marriage Certificate
- ONE or TWO Photos confirming relationship
- Relationship correspondence (we’ve been together for 6 ½ years so there is a lot of this.... please list them all so we can see if they meet the requirements

You need to include:
- no more than 2 photos
- all boarding passes or flight tickets
- any letters/cards you’ve sent each other
- 1-2 pages showing FaceTime call logs covering the entire relationship
- 1-2 pages of each of any other communication type... such as email inbox, iMessages, WhatsApp etc.

The correspondence is basically 6 1/2 years worth of WhatsApp conversations and a few emails. I culled it a bit so no inappropriate chat of course!

Okay, you only want 2-3 pages maximum of WhatsApp messages - just screenshot a few messages, paste into word and then crop out all except the name, date and time. For 6.5 years worth, I would include maybe 6 messages per year (one every 2 months). You should be able to get about 30 messages on one page.

Hi Ksand,

Sorry to chime in but should we also include greeting cards, letters we’ve sent each other ?

Like Okkuriwin case my husband and I have 7 yrs of correspondence.  I don’t think we could get our text messages or iMessages from 7 years ago as we didn’t really use iMessages back in 2011, it’s more email correspondence.  I will try to include as much as I can

Also, my husband changed his first name two years ago.  Should we include the change of name deed ?  Also notate it in my cover letter ?

Thank you!

Thank you Larabee,

Regarding the financial requirement.

We are meeting the requirement using our savings.  My mother in law gifted us half of our savings for our wedding/Start our life in the UK together.

The other half came directly from my income from the UK.

We are providing a letter from my mother in law stating it’s a gift.

Do I need to include my w2 tax return to prove my income?  Do I need to include all the transfers I’ve done to my husband ?  Or do we just say it’s from my income.

Thank you

Nope, you just write on the application form that it is ‘savings from salary’ or something similar.

Hello there,

Me again. My appointment at the VFS Premium Application Centre is this Wednesday. On the website under what to bring with you it says "All Original Documentation (including copies)." Am I supposed to be making physical copies of all this stuff? I was planning on just scanning everything so it's on my computer but wasn't going to make hard copies unless that's something I am supposed to do and simply missed that particular direction.

You will want to include copies of anything you want returned to you. It's also a good idea to keep a copy of the application for your records as it comes in handy when applying for the the next one so scanning that would work well.

Did you decide to go for the settlement premium package ($1,900) after all or is this your biometrics appointment?
It's very confusing at the moment as everything is changing but up until now, biometrics were taken at a USCIS center not a VFS application centre.
But now it seems that applications should be sent to New York for scanning to Sheffield rather than being sent directly to Sheffield!

I didn't pay for the crazy fee but I am going to get my biometrics taken at the VFS office. Or at least I'm going to try! I'll let you know if that ends up being incorrect but according to the website it should be okay. This is what the website says:

On the day of your visit
What happens at the premium application centre
You must attend the appointment for your visa application. You cannot send someone in your place.
Arrive at least 15 minutes early
Bring a printed copy of your visa application, as well as a valid passport or travel document with at least 1 page that is blank on both sides.
Bring all supporting documentation (originals and copies)
At the centre, you will also need to submit your fingerprints and photograph. This is known as biometric information collection. A digital finger scanner collects images of all 10 digits, and you will have a digital photo taken. The digital fingerprint scanner uses no inks, liquids or chemicals and will not mark your skin.
Your digital photograph must be taken with full face and without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or head covering unless it is worn for religious or medical reasons. Your face should be clearly visible with no hair across the eyes.
Ensure your fingertips are free from any forms of decoration, cuts, abrasions or other markings as these may affect your ability to provide acceptable finger scans.
If you are applying for a visa on behalf of a child under 5 years old, they must also attend an appointment, but don’t have to provide their fingerprint information.
Children under 18 years old need to be accompanied by an adult and this cannot be a member of VFS Global staff.

I could be wrong, but that, to me looks like an appointment to hand over your documents (premium appointment) rather than just a biometric appointment.
When you submitted your online application, were you not directed to book your biometric appointment at a USCIS location?
How exactly did you end up with the appointment that you have?
