OK, then. I should know better to believe what I see the MET saying on the TV. Unless it was different elsewhere, it was just a bit breezy here today. I don't see like cows blowing down the street or anything, from out in the countryside.  ;)

It was a bit crazy here in Stirling and close by areas. A coworkers husband had a tree fall on his van while at work. Our trains are out of service due to wind and some of the bridges are closed.

And our recycle bins are gone. Lol

Oh gosh!  I hope nobody was in the van at the time?

We just went to city center and watched a movie (Ant Man), and then did some shopping. A little breezy, but not bad. Sorry you had to deal with all that!

Very windy. And strange. Outside half an hour ago, pouring rain from blue skies and sunny with rainbows.. just like Hawaii!  ;D

We had several cars damaged in my office car park, from bits of the roof being blown off.
And i had a car-full of people trying to get home to Helensburgh cos the trains were off.  We had to go the long way round, as there was a fallen tree blocking the low road.

Currently out my kitchen window, i can see a big cruise ship that broke it's mooring earlier today, and had to get towed back to Greenock by 3 tug-boats!

He was in the van at the time but luckily he's ok, just had a bit of a fright.

It's been a very bizarre weather day here too. Periods of blue skies and rainbows here too.

I was on a video conference with Edinburgh office this afternoon and right before we started someone on their end noted that the trains were cancelled due to high winds so maybe we could wrap this up a bit early so folks could get home. I could see a bit of tree outside their window that was blowing in a rather stiff breeze. Then the video link cut out a few times.

Down here in London its pretty breezy with trash bins rolling around, but nothing too bad. There were worse storms last spring.

Wow! That's so strange, that it could be so bad within a few miles, and not here. The Daughter had originally planned to go to Edinburgh for something academic-related, but it was cancelled at the last minute. So it's good she didn't go - she'd still be there!

That’s how the weather works :).

Here in the Falklands, it’s snowing with gale force winds where I am, but if you go a just few miles west, it’s a lovely day with light winds... because there’s a massive low pressure system just to the east and only the edge of it has come over the northeastern side of the islands, while the south and west islands are fine (the Falklands Islands all together are about half the size of Wales).

We have trees down closer to Aberdeen but the winds have died down a lot since the sun went down. Hoping it’s better tomorrow as I’m flying back to the states for my dad’s funeral. I hate turbulence enough without this mess.  :-\\\\
